Musings on the Week

Musings on the Week

January 5, 2019

Government – “Government programs, once launched, never disappear.  Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll see on this Earth.”  Ronald Reagan.

Politics – Barack Obama was an inexperienced community organizer generated demand for changes according to a leftist template, but was unable to deliver pragmatic solutions that addressed the problems he generated and managed to make conditions worse.

Politics – .Democrat playbook begins with “psychological projection(psychological defense mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against impulses or qualities by denying their existence in themselves and attributing them to others) aka liberal “blame shifting.”

Politics – A Rasmussen poll focused on gender politics found: 76% of likely U.S. voters say a candidate’s gender is not important to their vote, and 51% who say it’s not at all important.

Politics – Democrat cried “danger” when Trump hired retired generals within his staff, but now is crying “danger” when these same generals resign, and shows dysfunctional thinking.

Politics – Pelosi, Schumer, and the rest of the Make America Miserable Again crowd have been trying to destroy President Trump by the death of a thousand cuts, with their poodle press in the ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBCPBSNPR trumpeting the lies and fake news.

Politics – The Democrats have been in chaos since the 2016 election and still have no coherent message except Trump hatred, which will almost guarantee reelection in 2020.

Politics – For Democrats, Donald Trump has become their Moby Dick, the hated monster they’ll destroy or die trying, shedding all constraints and ignoring all adverse consequences.

Politics – President Trump should publicly challenge the Congressional Democrats to work on the nation’s problems (see Gallup poll priorities) and not waste time manufacturing intrigue and inflating innuendo and inference into impeachable “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Media – I have not looked at network news, CNN, CNBC, or MSNBC in over ten years which is why I can see so many things clearly now – Try it yourself in 2019, you can feel the difference!

Social Media – Facebook is excellent for “social” interactions with family, friends, and associates, but horrible for “political” interactions with its stealth partisanship and censorship.

Social Media – Twitter is all too often a stream-of-consciousness, contextless reaction that provides instant gratification, but rarely in-depth analysis, nor seeks consensus building.

Government – “It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work -- work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.”  Ronald Reagan.

Debt – Our federal government is the problem, because Congress has a credit card with an unlimited credit limit and no requirement that card ever be paid off, or even paid down.

Business – The Small Business Administration reports that small businesses make up 99.9% of U.S. companies, 30.2 million spread from the country, with 47.5% of private sector employees.

Jobs – The GAO found the government spends about $18 billion a year on 47 job training programs scattered across nine federal agencies, but none could prove their effectiveness.

Judiciary – President Trump has confirmed 85 federal judges to lifetime appointments: two Supreme Court Justices, 30 judges to U.S. Court of Appeals, and 53 to federal district courts.

Immigration – The border wall may cost upwards of $25 billion, but Democrats claim it would be too expensive, even though illegal aliens cost $135 billion annually in federal support.

Environment – There is no evidence to support claims that the slight temperature, climate and weather changes we’ve experienced are dangerous, unprecedented or caused by humans, instead of by the powerful solar, oceanic and other natural forces.

Environment – The only place where climate change is “settled science” is in the bizarro-world of Leftism, where good is bad, and left is right, and inconvenient facts can be ignored.

Gun Control – The National Instant Criminal Background Check System rejected 7,836,600 planned purchases from “illegal/unlawful aliens,” 5,637,317 with adjudicated mental health issues, and another 3,833,213 convicted of violent crimes, so far this year through November.

Crime – Body cameras are a powerful technology that proves how good law enforcement professionals are behind the badge, and every American should marvel at a profession that provides an open and transparent view into one of the most difficult jobs on the planet.

Civil Rights – The only “privilege” acceptable in today’s America is Liberal Privilege, since only liberals are excused for uncivil and illegal activities based on their identity class.

Government – “Democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.”  Ronald Reagan.

GWOT – The end goal of Islam is all people living under a worldwide Islamic Caliphate, but under the doctrine of taqiyya, Muslims lying to advance the cause of Islam is virtuous.

GWOT – Unconventional war defines victory differently: In a conventional war the army loses if it does not win; in the war on terrorism, terrorism wins if it does not lose.

Middle East – The United States should step aside and allow the Middle East to redraw their own national boundaries into religious onesSunni-stan (Saudi Arabia, Yemen); Shiia-stan (Iran, Turkey); Kurdi-stan (Syria, Iraq); Alewite-stan (Syria, Lebanon); and Israel.

China – China created a draconian social credit rating score for determining each individual citizen’s worth, with requisite punishments and awards doled out by the government.

Europe – Globalist leaders are asking their citizens to voluntarily surrender their political and economic sovereignty to the European Union, but the people are rejecting this capitulation.
