Musings on the Week

Immigration – “All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public services they use impose burdens on our taxpayers.” Bill Clinton.

Politics – Donald Trump is the leader of today’s Republican Party, dragging moderates and conservatives kicking and screaming back to core beliefs with incremental improvements.

Politics – The Democrats’ political strategy is now ‘Whatever is good for America is bad for DemocratsandWhatever is bad for America is good for Democrats.”

Politics – The American Left strives to convince all Americans that they are victims of either Christians, conservatives, Republicans, the rich or straight white men.

Politics – Democrats idealize the virtues of diversity on others as long as everybody believes and consumes exactly the same things and votes uniformly Democrat.

Politics – The major difference between the 1985-87 Watergate scandal and the 2016-18 Obamagate scandal is that the media enthusiastically pursued the Watergate investigation.

Politics – The Nunes memo, a summary of hundreds of pages of documents turned over to the Intelligence Committee, proves how the left has been in covering up the crimes of the DNC, the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Obama administration, the FBI, the DOJ, and the State Dept. as they tried to prevent a Trump presidency, both before and after his election.

Politics – The Mueller “witch hunt has been underway for almost a year, spending over $12 million so far, and has uncovered no evidence of Republican election collusion, but has uncovered ample proof of Democrat political abuse - time to refocus on Democrat crimes!

Politics – The politicization of the FBI and DOJ is just one more example of the Obama “culture of corruption” that already included the EPA, DOE and IRS abuses of power.

Politics – Democrats are threatening to make Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) a terminal disease as they commit “political suicide by TDS,” destroying their own legitimacy.

Media – Despite a constant drumbeat of media negativity, President Trump is more popular today than Obama at this point in his presidency, with an approval rating of 48%.

Media – Journalism is dead; a sad case of professional suicide sacrificing objectivity for partisan zeal: and all the more reason to Boycott the Mainstream Media!

Immigration – “We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it." Bill Clinton.

Economy – The economic news continues to surprise the liberal media, predicting a 5.4% GDP growth, more jobs created than predicted, and higher wages than predicted.

Budget – Congress has not passed a budget for over ten years, but instead has funded the government operations through a succession of spending bills ignoring deficit implications.

Taxes – The longer the Democrats continue to attack the effects of the tax reform, the more likely that reality (paycheck impact) will destroy whatever credibility they have left.

Taxes – Despite Democrat predictions of fiscal ruin, the CBO says that federal revenues increased by $18 billion (5.2% higher than last year) in the first month of GOP tax cuts.

Immigration – Negotiating 101 specifies that once an offer is presented, it can erode with time as less and less concessions need to be included to satisfy non-participating partners.

Immigration – A Harvard-Harris poll found 72% of Americans think we should admit fewer than 1 million immigrants a year, of those, 54% think we should have fewer than 500,000 immigrants a year, and 35% think the number should be 250,000 or even less.

Environment – Our sun has the largest effect on Earth’s climate and natural variations in the Sun’s energy output or cyclical variations in the Earth’s orbit, known as the Milankovitch Cycles explain the vast majority of differences in surface temperatures.

Environment – There is no valid scientific basis for climate alarm, since climate alarmism is made possible by equal parts data manipulation and worthless climate models.

Sexuality – LGBTQQIAAACPPF2K (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Agender, Ally, Curious, Pansexual, Polysexual, Friends, 2-spirit, Kink)

Civil Rights – American Left (Democrats, Hollywood and MSM) exploits Black History Month as an opportunity to further their lie that America is eternally racist and a hellhole for blacks.

Immigration – “Those who enter the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law, and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law. We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented (and) unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.” Barack Obama.

Defense – According to the Constitution, national defense is an essential role of the federal government and spending is mandatory, not “discretionary” like legislative imperatives.
