Musings on the Week

Musings on the Week

March 12, 2016

Liberty - “I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it.” Thomas Jefferson.

Politics – The one clear message from the primaries is that voters are furious with Washington, Wall Street, hedge funds, big banks, lobbyists, fat cats in corner offices, all of them cutting special deals for themselves while average folks are left out.

Politics – Democrats are campaigning on divisiveness and redistribution of poverty, while Republicans are campaigning on a return to economic growth and American greatness.

Politics - This week’s distractions from the economy, ObamaCare, and terrorism: social justice takeovers of liberal campuses and Netanyahu refuses to meet with Obama.

Politics – Hillary Clinton must be charged with multiple felonies that would prohibit any one of us any possibility of government service, or trust in government would be irreparably lost!

Politics – Hillary Clinton must be charged and acquitted prior to any election otherwise we have a risk of an elected President presiding over the United States from behind bars!

Politics – The longer we see policies that impede recovery and give us a stagnant economy, the less likely voters will prefer Hillary Clinton to continue these policies for four more years.

Politics – Hillary Clinton proclaimed herself the “most transparent politician” in modern history, which is true in one sense – the most transparently corrupt politician since Boss Tweed.

Politics – Hillary Clinton has turned into Tonya Harding; an obnoxious criminal who can’t stop making excuses, with Bill Clinton as her Jeff Gillooly to kneecap her opponents with attacks.

Media – The mainstream media tries to select the Republican Presidential candidate, then proceeds to attack them with all the vitriol and ad hominems they saved in the primaries.

Politics – Donald Trump is a narcissist who loves himself first, last, and in between, and he puts his personal interests as he perceives them at the time ahead of the pesky Constitution,

Politics – Based on the abysmal Obama record, Republicans should win the election in a landslide, except for Donald Trump who can lose to an equally untrustworthy Hillary Clinton, since both share negative favorability ratings with unfavorable outnumbering favorable, in a campaign avalanche of mudslinging and personal attacks by both candidates.

Liberty - “The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedience, and by parts.” Edmund Burke.

Manufacturing – Even while shedding jobs, manufacturers have significantly increased output shifting to more automated factories and focusing on more sophisticated products.

Income – Census Bureau reported that income inequality rose (Gini Index and Theil Index) more under Bill Clinton and Barack Obama than under their Republican predecessors.

Healthcare – The only ones benefited from ObamaCare are those who implemented it and those who administer it, since no promises fulfilled and insurance companies lost money.

Healthcare – Not one of the co-ops under ObamaCare has repaid any of the $1.2 billion in federal loans they received, including all 11 still operational and the 12 that have failed.

Immigration – In the last 30 years, how many billions squandered by politicians to “secure the border” with physical fence or “virtual fence,” or by “rigorous enforcement.”

Immigration – According to updated Census data, a record-setting 61 million immigrants and their American-born children reside in the U.S., of which 15.7 million are illegal aliens.

Immigration – According to Rasmussen, 67% of likely U.S. voters say illegal immigrants should not be allowed to vote, even “if they can prove that they live in the country and pay taxes.”

Transportation – Without government mandates and massive taxpayer subsidies, green” energy requires $350 a barrel before electric cars are more economical than gas-powered!

Energy – Wind farms and solar farms don’t make money by generating electricity, but instead by generating government subsidies, since they have never been self-sustainable,

Environment – The problem with environmentalism is that when science is funded by the government, it becomes less scientific and more political.

Environment – Less developed countries signed the Paris treaty to get trillions in climate “adaptation” and “compensation” funds; with no intention of curbing CO2 emissions.

Environment – Contrary to catastrophic warming, hysterical predications by NOAA and IPCC, there have been no upward trends in hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, or droughts.

Elections – True the Vote (TTV) has found over one thousand duplicate voter registrations in Ohio’s Cuyahoga and Franklin Counties, uncovering intentional forgeries in the last election.

Justice – Islamic Sharia law is the combination of religious and secular laws, and just the opposite of our Constitution’s intentional separation of church and state.

Civil Rights – President Obama’s civil rights legacy is that of a rigid ideologue who believes the government should dispense favors to blacks and other non-whites, and refuses to prosecute any so-called hate crimes committed against white Americans.

Liberty - “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” John F. Kennedy.

Military – Less than half of the military age population is qualified for service, because many are unable to pass the basic military entrance exam, even many high school graduates.

GWOT – President Bush’s axis of evil” is alive and well in North Korea and Iran, as both countries demonize the U.S. and work to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.

GWOT – Now that President Obama has declared his intention to close Guantanamo prison, there is no facility to hold and interrogate high value ISIS prisoners to avoid future attacks.

GWOT – For the first time, the number of Gitmo detainees who have re-engaged in terrorism has climbed above 30%, and the rate has been growing steadily under President Obama.

Religion – “Islamic extremism” is the main source of persecution in 41 of the top 50 countries, 82% of the world’s persecution of Christians, and the rest done by atheistic communism.

Israel – Since October 2015, 29 Israelis and 4 foreign nationals have been murdered using guns, knives, hatchets and motor vehicles and 170 Palestinian Arab terrorists died in attacks.

Cuba – Obama’s original precondition to not visit Cuba until the Castroites improve the rights of Cuba’s citizens, dissident arrests have risen fivefold since the normalization of ties in 2014.
