Musings on the Week

March 16, 2019

Liberty – "Liberty and equality are captivating sounds, but they often captivate to destroy." John Tyler.

Politics – The movement to Make America Great Again confronts hostility from every sector in American life: legacy media, social media, academia, big labor, big government, entertainment, big corporations, all Democrats, and a large number of Republican elites.

Politics – BLEXIT is a movement of blacks exiting the Democrats’ keep-blacks-stupid-victims-and-needy plantation, founded by Candace Owens to impact the 2020 election.

Politics – When the word “liberal” took on connotations of elitist, out-of-touch, and extremist, the left rebranded itself as “progressive” and their left-wing agenda as “progressivism.”

Politics – Anti-Semitism has become respectable again, or at least acceptable, across the Western world, but this time around the Jew-haters are predominantly Muslims and leftists.

Politics – Justice Democrats brags about creating, rehearsing and marketing a new type of hard-left progressive puppet (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in NY, Ayanna Pressley in MA, Ilhan Omar in MN, Rashida Tlaib in MI, Pramila Jayapal in WA, Raul Grijalva in AZ, Ro Khanna in CA) to replace “corporate-backed” Democrats to completely rebuild the U.S. Congress.

Politics – Since the 2016 election, Democrats have been unified by hatred of President Trump and impeachment fever, but this false unity has papered over significant differences of style and substance, and a lurch to champion ideas that the old guard would never endorse.

Politics – President Trump has been the target of an extraordinary combination, not just of federal law enforcement and congressional probes, but a long list of less-discussed but potentially consequential investigations by state and local prosecutors and regulators.

Politics – Liberals collect scalps and conservatives collect moral victories; conservatives must learn to fight back with mutually assured destruction as the only effective tactic.

Politics – After two years of hysterical predictions, delusional assertions and false allegations, the Mueller Russia-election probe found no evidence of collusion and no impeachable crimes, so now Democrats took over House leadership, they plan to waste another two years distracting themselves on more Trump investigations still looking for an impeachable crime.

Politics – After two years of the Mueller Russia election collusion probe only indicting process crimes, Republicans should now answer the House Judicial Committee investigations by refusing to answer all questions by citing the constitutional rights under the Fifth Amendment.

Politics – As more Democrats declare their presidential ambitions and their hallucinogenic socialist ideas, more people emerge anxious to vote for Trump as a sane alternative.

Media – The year 2016 marked the end of the Democrat Media Complex, as President Trump revealed the MSM as a willing partner of the Democrat Party and no longer an objective source of news, and demonstrated the power of speaking directly to the American people.

Media – The Bulwark motto is “conserving conservatism” but their behavior is just like the people they think who have ruined conservatism.

Politics – “I am not liked as a President by the politicians in office, in the press, or in Congress.  But I am content to abide the judgment the sober second thoughts of the people.” Rutherford B. Hayes.

Economy – Looking at company performance, an Axios/Harris poll found that government” was worst out of 100: Republicans ranking 95; Democrats 98; and Independents dead last.

Budget – Current entitlement programs have been unsustainable for a long time, along with out-of-control federal spending are dragging the American economy into bankruptcy, unless drastic reforms are implemented to return discipline back into the budget process.

Income – The only way that Universal Basic Income can be financed is replace Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, Supplemental Security Income, housing subsidies, welfare for single women, and every other kind of welfare and social-services program, as well as agricultural subsidies and corporate welfare.

Maturity – Politicians are inconsistent when children can be trusted with responsibilities: can’t buy or drink alcohol until 21; can’t join the military service, buy a firearm, buy tobacco products, be prescribed health medications, or sign a legal contract until 18, but now they want to lower the age to vote for President and federal offices to 16why not all the same?

Environment – Between 2000 and 2018, global temperature showed no significant increase despite a steep increase in carbon dioxide emissions from anthropogenic sources.

Drugs – Liberal society's pursuit of indulgence and absolution from responsibility is showcased by the marijuana debate, proven to pose substantial health and safety risks to users and third parties and legalized by same people who claim to be most interested in protecting society

Defense – “We Americans have no commission from God to police the world.” Grover Cleveland.
