Return to Common Sense

June 2, 2012

America - "You can call it mysticism if you want to, but I have always believed that there was some divine plan that placed this great continent between two oceans to be sought out by those who were possessed of an abiding love of freedom and a special kind of courage..Ronald Reagan.

Politics – The American public ranks government spending and high budgets as high (82%) on the worry scale as lack of jobs, with Romney favored (54%) to do a better job handling.

Politics – Voter Question:How did that vote for Obama work out for you? Are you better off today than when Barack Obama was elected? Is he making the economy better or worse?

Politics – Voter Caution: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! Once a mistake; Twice a fool!

Politics – The Wisconsin gubernatorial recall election is being billed as a November election tune-up, so the questions is not if, but how many fictitious votes will be cast in the election?

Politics Consumer confidence, a key campaign indicator, which has been low throughout Obama’s Presidency, stumbled badly plunging from 69.7% in April to 64.9% in May.

Politics – Obama is enabling citizens to turn in their neighbors with his AttackWatch.com, FightTheSmears.com, Flag@WhiteHouse.gov, and ObamaTruthTeam.com web tools

Abortion – Obama’s endorsement of sex selection abortion by his opposing the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act is evidence on the real, deadly War on Women.

GWOT – The New York Times story (WH press release) on Barack Obama as the Drone-Warrior-in-Chief is overplayed, exaggerated, and as farcical as the rest of his accomplishments.

Crime – Jon Corzine stole $1 billion from his customer’s accounts at MF Global which is illegal and unethical, but Democrat connections allow him to escape any legal prosecution.

Media – Newspapers continue to hemorrhage readers with only political ads in the 2012 election to save them, but I expect many newspapers will disappear after the next election.

Politics I expect that the 2012 Presidential election will be the most racist campaign, with baseless accusations used to distract voter attention from Obama’s record of failure.

Politics – Now that the Republican Party has settled on Mitt Romney, I expect that the TEA Party members will vote for him in November, but leave the Party to become Independents.

America - Well, America has not been a story or a byword. That small community of Pilgrims prospered and, driven by the dreams and, yes, by the ideas of the Founding Fathers, went on to become a beacon to all the oppressed and poor of the world. Ronald Reagan.

Jobs – Mitt Romney has promised to lower the unemployment rate to 6% by the end of his first term in the White House, but did not provide specifics how he would accomplish it.

Labor – Unions once helped advance working conditions, but now union rules hurt workers because they stifle growth by making companies less flexible and less competitive.

Budget – Contrary to consensus opinion, about 65% of federal expenditures over the last ten years have gone towards entitlements, with less than 15% going towards national defense.

Finance – Twenty banks with combined assets to nearly 90% of the U.S. economy, and five mega-banks have combined assets equal to 60% of the national output – Too Big To Exist?

Taxes – In recent weeks, California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island have all reported taxes coming in below projections causing balanced budget challenges.

Environment – Environmental summits (Copenhagen, Cancun, Durban, and Bonn) only show how this movement has fizzled out by incompetence, loss of credibility and now irrelevance.

Civil Rights – Affirmative action is a zero sum game with undeserving African-Americans receiving preference while over-represented Asian-Americans are discriminated against.

Education – At four-year schools, less than 45% of students have improved their critical thinking and writing skills after 2 years, and fewer than 60% of freshman graduate in 6 years.

Debt I expect that the country’s credit rating will again be downgraded after Congress debt ceiling discussions again fail to find sufficient spending cuts to halt deficit spending.

DeficitI expect one or more states to declare bankruptcy by 2012 and seek assistance to recover from the bad economic decisions of the past under federal judicial protection.

Housing I expect that it will take four or more years at the current rate for the backlog of foreclosures to finally clear, before we see any signs of life of a robust housing recovery.

Leadership –We cannot escape our destiny, nor should we try to do so. The leadership of the free world was thrust upon us two centuries ago in that little hall of Philadelphia. In the days following World War II, when the economic strength and power of America was all that stood between the world and the return to the dark ages. Ronald Reagan.

Iran – The Obama administration is incapable of learning that negotiations with the UN and International Atomic Energy Agency just buy time for Iran to complete their nuclear weapon.

Syria – After three years of fruitless negotiations, the Obama administration is preparing a plan with Arab allies to arm the Syrian rebels, since this avoids U.S. military engagement.

Israel I expect that Israel will be attacked by Hamas again in 2012 and the IDF will retaliate by invading and then annexing Gaza based on the concept of defensible borders.

Israel – I expect that Israel will suffer a nuclear attack from Islamist extremists by 2012, and Obama will stand aside and not help defend this longtime ally.

Asia – I expect that North Korea will attack South Korea and attempt to reunite Korea by the 2012, and Obama will be an unwitting accomplice as he abandons this ally in a time of war.
