Musings on the Week

Musings on the Week

June 4, 2016

Government - “It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes.” Andrew Jackson.

Politics- Republicans have always been the party of business, but has allowed itself to be characterized as the party of the rich, when they have always been the middle class party.

Politics – Many TEA Party activists feel like they wasted their time attending meetings and rallies, and advocating issues but can only be measured by the bad ideas it prevented.

Politics – The first thing the next President must do is to fire the Islamic sympathizers in the White House and State Department who are undermining our national security.

Politics - This week’s distractions from the economy, ObamaCare, and terrorism: Katie Couric’s deceptive gun control editing and North Korean missile launch failures.

Media – Journalists have always lied, but now more than ever, in unison controlled by a common anti-American ideology, showing day to day collusion in leftist propaganda

Politics – Confronted by problems, Hillary Clinton: 1) decides on response, 2) surprised by unintended consequences, 3) lies to explain bad judgment, 4) covers up any accountability.

Politics – Hillary Clinton must be held accountable for obstructing justice, breaking laws, and lying to cover up like everyone else to demonstrate no one is exempt or above the law.

Politics – The Clinton Foundation must be exposed as a political slush fund masquerading as a charity but acting as a laundry between corrupt politicians and crony advocacy issues.

Politics – If Hillary Clinton gets indicted and leaves the race, the Democrat Party would implode if anyone other than Bernie Sanders becomes the Presidential candidate.

Politics – The Libertarians have repackaged two “moderate” Republicans into a third party Gary Johnson / Mike Weld ticket, which will join a long line of Presidential election footnotes.

Government - “The duty of government is to leave commerce to its own capital and credit as well as all other branches of business, protecting all in their legal pursuits, granting exclusive privileges to none.” Andrew Jackson.

Economy – U.S. job growth slowed sharply in May, creating the fewest number of jobs in over five years, as employment in manufacturing and construction sectors fell sharply.

Economy – It is true that President Obama has grown the economy, but unfortunately the only parts that he has grown are the national debt and the regulatory burden.

Taxes - The earned income tax credit, originally intended to help low- to moderate-income families, has ballooned into a welfare entitlement for constituents who pay no income taxes.

Healthcare – The Ohio ObamaCare coop is the 13th out of 23 ObamaCare coops to fail, once again proving that the government is incapable of running a profitable business.

Debt – The U.S. debt situation has grown much worse in recent years and is projected to grow still worse in the future.

Housing – Federal Reserve policies have achieved one of their objectives to re-inflate house prices to pre-crash levels, although not its wish for robust economic growth.

Education – Most Arts and Humanities graduates are not fit for actual life, having learned little except how to parrot their activist professors, chant slogans, howl vulgarities and shut down speaking events with which they disagree, which aren’t very marketable skills.

Family – For the first time in 130 years, more young Millennial adults ages 18-34 are living with their parents than not, for a variety of reasons.

Civil Rights – Even Snoop Dogg notices there is too much focus on the “Roots” remake about past slavery abuse rather than focus on present day success that black folks are having.

Abortion – In 2011, Planned Parenthood mandated that all its affiliates must perform abortions and some affiliates stopped providing contraception to focus solely on abortion.

Leadership “Peace, above all things, is to be desired, but blood must sometimes be spilled to obtain it on equable and lasting terms.” Andrew Jackson.

Foreign Policy – John Kerry has moved from giving aid and comfort to our North Vietnamese enemies in the 70’s to giving aid and comfort to potential Iranian enemies of the future.

GWOT – The Global War on Terror has always been ideology based, not country based, so any focus on county of origin or “homegrown” is a distinction without value.

Israel – The anti-Semitic BDS movement is a strange alliance of radical leftists and Islamists who advocate the destruction of Israel through economic and cultural boycotts.
