Musings on the Week

June 14, 2014

Communism – The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.” Karl Marx.

Politics – Democrats want to transform the nation into a “utopia” where all our basic needs are met from cradle to grave, the only price being total subservience to the government.

Politics – Republicans want to reverse direction and return to personal responsibility and embrace the “can do” attitude and values that facilitated the rapid rise of America.

Politics – A Pew poll on political polarization found that partisan antipathy is deeper and more extensive than at any point in the last two decades.

Politics – It is so sad that, when the President speaks, the first thing everyone now does is to question how much of the announcement is really true and can be believed?

Politics – Gallup polled Americans in June to quantify Presidential credibility and found that 51% do not believe the phrase “is honest and trustworthy” applies to Barack Obama.

Politics – Obama is self inflicting “the death of a thousand cuts” by delaying, not resolving the myriad of scandals which reinforces the perception of his “culture of corruption.”

Politics – ABC and the Post found 58% think Team Obama engaged in a cover-up on the Benghazi CIA activities, consulate security, military response, and administration reporting.

Politics – Barack Obama has accomplished little, created serious problems, yet still enjoys continuing enthusiastic support from his large core group (post-achievement politics).

Politics – Chelsea Clinton was paid $600K annually as an NBC News “Special Correspondent” - must be the new name for political payoff, since it was at least 5 times what she was worth.

Politics - Hillary Clinton didn’t do much as Secretary of State except tour countries and pose for photos, which says As Secretary of State she made a perfectly adequate First Lady.”

Politics – Hillary Clinton’s tone-deaf comments about “being broke after she and her husband left the White House shows how out-of-touch she is with average Americans.

Politics –Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama in 2016Replace two incompetent politicians with two angry females – a new low in relevant experience and lack of accomplishments!

Politics - This week’s distractions from the stagnant economy and ObamaCare:  dumping of children on Arizona ICE and a defense of his bad trade of an army deserter for five terrorists.

Politics – Despite what the Mainstream Media says, Eric Cantor’s primary loss demonstrates how the TEA Party holds politicians accountable for their positions and voting record.

Media – One lesson overlooked in Eric Cantor’s defeat is the power of the alternative media endorsing David Blat, overcoming a seemingly overwhelming campaign fund advantage.

Communism – There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism -- by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.Ayn Rand.

Economy – Obama’s strategy raised taxes, gave only lip service to trade, then hit the brakes on energy and blew about $1 trillion on an inept, waste-ridden, job stimulus spending program left our job-challenged economy where it is today.

Healthcare – The mainstream media is ignoring that ObamaCare implementation continues to limp along with inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and outright lies being uncovered daily.

Healthcare – Prior to ObamaCare, 85% of American were happy with their healthcare system, and today 55% of Americans still wish it had never been passed.

Environment – CO2 has been steadily increasing for over a century, but global temperatures fluctuated in broad cycles, suggesting increasing CO2 is not a driver for global warming.

Environment – Environmentalism is a junk science-based “non-problem” addressed by a carbon-pollution “non-solution” and championed by a clueless ideologue “non-President.”

Jobs – Working-age population today is 16 million larger than in December 2007, and the Obama Great Recession has left a shortfall of nearly 7 million jobs or “missing workers.

Income – Contrary to claims by left-leaning economists such as Piketty, individual income inequality hasn’t changed at all since 1960, but the household size has shrunk markedly.

Wealth – Marxist redistribution of wealth is the implementation of political “social justice” to re-allocate private property through legalized government theft.

Charity – Gallup ranked the U.S. # 1 in the World of Giving Index based on these criteria: donating money to charities, volunteering time to organizations, and helping of strangers.

Immigration – Obama is manufacturing an immigration “crisis dumping all unaccompanied minors caught entering this country illegally into a single ICE detention Center in Arizona.

Immigration – Comprehensive immigration reform may not be needed if we enforced all of our existing immigration laws consistently across the country.

Education – When Obama took over the student loan business, he conveniently ignored the fact that student loan default rates have consistently risen since 2005.

Education – Obama has signed an executive order capping student loan payments at 10% of income, turning their existing 15 year student loans into 30 year financial obligations.

Civil Rights – Eric Holder has turned the power and prestige of the Justice Department into a radicalized agency of fundamental change and delivering race-obsessed legal policies.

Communism – Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both.John F. Kennedy.

National Security – National-security adviser, Susan Rice, is aggressively stupid, immaculately clueless, and a disgrace to our system of government, but you must admire her tenacity.

Middle East – Arab Spring, the yearning for representative governments, has morphed into a Jihadi Summer, yearning for re-establishment of an Islamic sharia-based caliphate.

Iraq - Obama’s determination to end America’s involvement in Iraq irrespective of events on the ground is rapidly approaching its inevitable, and disastrous, conclusion – disintegration.
