Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
July 23, 2016
Language
-
“Abuse
of words has been the great instrument of sophistry and chicanery, of party,
faction, and division of society.” John Adams.
Politics
– The Democrat Party firmly believes that the only
way to grow the economy is the forcibly remove still more money from the pockets
of private investors, and put it in the hands of unaccountable bureaucrats,
political hacks and politically connected businesses.
Politics
– President
Obama and
his administration is composed of racist “fellow travelers” who
perpetuate skewed racial stereotypes that has destroyed 60
years of racial progress.
Politics
– 60% of respondents in a Rasmussen poll said race
relations have deteriorated under President
Obama, the highest mark since he was elected eight
years ago.
Language
- Political
correctness has
attained a level of institutional power comparable to
the brainwashing efforts seen in Mao Tse-tung’s
Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, employing the thought reform techniques
of pubic shaming and self-criticism.
Media
– With Roger Ailes ousted
at Fox News, the question is: will Fox continue to be “Fair and Balanced” or must conservative journalist seek a more
open channel?
Politics
- This week’s distractions
from the economy, ObamaCare, and terrorism: political party convention protests planned and military coup in Turkey.
Politics
– Political conventions are superfluous and are glorified
infomercials since most decisions have already been made and
only serve to generate a free flow of sound bites.
Politics
- Hillary Clinton has promised to be
Barack Obama in a pantsuit, continuing the Democrat
practice of “Promise Everything, Deliver Nothing, Blame Others”
in perpetuity.
Politics
– Both Presidential candidates have likability
problems, so voters are looking for a change so Donald
Trump promises to “Make America Great Again” while Hillary Clinton promises to continue the same failed Barack Obama policies that “made America weak”.
Politics
– Ted Cruz, as a true conservative, said to vote
your conscience for anyone who will uphold the Constitution which only
leaves one choice for President: Donald
Trump.
Politics
– If Donald
Trump is
unable to get elected in 2016, then Ted Cruz has set himself up or a Ronal
Reagan-like conservative challenge for the 2020 nomination.
Politics
– Donald
Trump does
not represent the future of the Republican Party, but the people
who have been taken for granted by the Party who support him are the real
future.
Knowledge
-
“I must
study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and
philosophy.” John Adams.
Economy – The White
House now forecasts that GDP will rise 1.9% this year and 2.5% in 2017,
down from estimates of 2.6% for both years in its February forecast.
Economy
– Obama will have the unique
distinction of presiding over an economy that never once grew at more than 2.4% in eight years.
Economy
– in the third year of their tax experiment, Kansas reduced state income taxes which resulted in state
records for business formations and record low unemployment.
Budget
– Congress will again fail to perform its
most basic constitutional job to fund the government through the end of the
fiscal year, instead passing a temporary continuing resolution
and eventually a last-minute omnibus funding bill riddled with waste and pork.
Deficit
– The White House expects the
deficit for this fiscal year will be $600 billion, which is $66 billion higher than the CBO had projected in March
and $162 billion higher than last year.
Finance
– The big financial institutions that caused the 2008
financial crisis made crony deals with the Justice
Department to pay fines to keep their political donor leadership out of jail.
Healthcare
– The remaining ObamaCare co-ops are on the verge of failing, but
should not be used to justify the public single payer options, since it is even
less viable.
Energy
– California Democrats are victims of the “new
math” because they think they can replace 17 billion kWhs from nuclear reactors with 12 billion kWhs from wind energy.
Environment
– The U.S. federal government
alone spent $11.6 billion on “green”
energy and climate “research”
and “mitigation” programs
in 2014.
Environment
– Britain’s new government abolished
its Department of Energy and Climate Change abandoning the
Global Warming fraud and its global warming bureaucracy.
Environment
– International Greenpeace abandoned
science as justification for change, so they embraced
eco-terrorism as a preferred tactic to advance their junk science.
Education
– Instead of free community college, a better reform would be remedial classes available so all
high school graduates can read, write, and figure at a 12th grade
level.
Education
– The average black student who manages to graduate
from inner city high school has an academic achievement
level of a white seventh- or eighth-grader.
Gun
Control – After every terrorist attack in America, Obama calls for more gun control, so with the changed
tactics will he now want more truck control, ax
control, and knife control?
Civil
Rights – BlackLivesMatter is based on lies that have been repeatedly disproven, but racial
haters believe Police are guilty until proven innocent,
even if proven innocent!
Civil
Rights – BlackLivesMatter
has since branched out into a more broad spectrum sort of anti-capitalism, anti-law and order,
anti-white, anti-American in general movement.
Civil
Rights – The nationwide Days of Rage
rallies in 36 major cities were meant to show solidarity with BlackLivesMatter, but were poorly
attended as the marches fizzled.
Civil
Rights - The
prospects for a better future are nearly hopeless for roughly 20% of black
people who reside in big-city crime-infested and dysfunctional neighborhoods,
because nothing can be done about it without major
rebuilding of the black community from within.
Sports
– The Olympic Committee is enforcing the ban on
performance-enhancing drugs, so it will be interesting if they consider testosterone a transgender performance enhancing drug?
Crime
- The repeated exoneration of allegedly racist cops by minority
jurors and judges, from Ferguson, Staten Island, Cleveland and now Baltimore
undermines the anti-cop movement.
War
–
“Great
is the guilt of an unnecessary war.” John
Adams.
GWOT – Everything America stands
for: free speech, freedom of religion, women’s rights all are in the
Constitution, but Sharia law is incompatible with our values and democracy.
GWOT – 51% of American
Muslims desire that Sharia law be made the law of the
land, and nearly
30% say violence is appropriate against Americans who “insult”
Islam or Muhammad.
GWOT – The
United States has faced 89 Islamist terror plots or
attacks against the homeland since 9/11, with over a quarter of these
occurring in the past 18 months.
GWOT – There
is no such thing as a homegrown terrorist or a lone
wolf, because each and every one is a fervent believer in the Islamist
ideology regardless of where they were born.
Britain –
The Brexit vote suggests that national
sovereignty matters more than supra national or NGO tyranny,
and the immigration issue is just a symptom.
Cuba – When
a nation-state takes property from a foreign national it either: returns the property, offers restitution or, pays for what it
stole (5,913 DOJ certified claims - $8 billion).
