Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
August 1, 2015
Elections - “This election
presents a stark choice - we can continue down the road of the Obama Democrats,
more and more spending, debt and government control of the economy, or we can
return to the founding principles of our nation - free markets, fiscal
responsibility and individual liberty.” Ted
Cruz.
Politics – The Democrats are in a grip
of a leftward lurch that can only end in total victory
over the country as founded or electoral
destruction as the voters reject their ideology.
Politics
– Despite what you read in the legacy media, Barack Obama is not popular,
with the AP/GfK poll showing 43% approval and 55%
disapproval.
Scandals
– Using the legal concept of “disparate impact” to examine
the data, the IRS is guilty of illegal political discrimination
in targeted non-profit approvals and tax audits.
Politics
- This week’s
distractions from the sluggish economy and ObamaCare:
$15 minimum wage for fast food workers and big game hunter shoots lion in Zimbabwe.
Politics – Hillary Clinton’s biggest opponent is
not Bernie Sanders,
or even any of the Republican candidates, but rather herself
since her positions flip-flop with the latest
polls.
Politics
– It’s
no longer a question of whether Hillary Clinton will be the Democrat nominee for President
in 2016; it’s only a question of when she will
drop out of the race.
Politics – The Republican Party elites
don’t realize that millions of conservatives are
disgusted with the GOP and are ready to bolt the Party if it continues
to ignore them.
Politics – Donald Trump is fulfilling a real need for the Republican
Party as a “stalking
horse” for addressing sensitive issues and an “anger sponge”
for channeling conservative angst.
Media – The best thing about Donald Trump
is his disrespect for the mainstream media,
but the worst thing is that he is a RINO that no
self-respecting conservative would ever support.
Media – MSNBC is “re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic”
as they cancel three more failed news shows to make way for their recycled news anchor,
Brian Williams.
Elections - “It is enough that the people know
there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people
who count the votes decide everything.” Joseph Stalin.
Economy – President Obama has presided over an economic recovery, now more than six years old, that is far worse than all the
previous 10 stretching back 70 years.
Finance – Dodd-Frank, not completely implemented yet, has created more regulatory requirements and prohibitions (nearly
28,000) than all other Obama-era laws combined.
Infrastructure
– There are ten major urban
areas where more than half of the roads are in poor condition, and the
one thing they have in common is Democrat politicians.
Housing – Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing is
Obama’s attempt to redistribute urban poverty to the suburbs eliminating local control replacing with unelected
bureaucrats in D.C.
Jobs – Pew Research found that the
number of illegal aliens in this country currently outnumbers the number of
unemployed Americans.
Taxes – Even in the “People’s Republic of Massachusetts,”
citizens refuse to implement graduated income taxes to
redistribute wealth, preferring a flat income tax instead.
Social Security – The Social Security
Disability Insurance (SSDI) program will run out of money next year,
which could mean 20% benefit cuts.
Healthcare – ObamaCare
created non-profit insurance co-ops “consumer directed” to provide
competition in the exchanges, but instead they are slowly
going bankrupt.
Healthcare – Despite protestations it was not a “government takeover,”
ObamaCare is a path to single-payer and projected to account for over
half of healthcare spending by 2015.
Immigration – Multiculturalism has failed
when language, cultural, and political assimilation was not required, since it reinforced divisive and contradictory laws and behaviors.
Environment – Environmental zealots have entered the next phase
of destructive central control known as “BANANA”: “Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone.”
Environment – Almost half of all reported temperature
data from the NOAA is now fake, having filled in missing rural data to create the
appearance of non-existent US warming.
Education – Engineers from the class of 2014 now
start with salaries of $65,000 a year compared with just $42,000
annually for liberal arts graduates.
Civil Rights – According to a New York
Times/CBS News poll,
six in ten Americans think that race relations are generally bad, and four in
ten think they are getting worse.
Abortion – The phased release of Planned Parenthood sting
videos was masterful, allowing defenders to try excuses
which were then completely destroyed in the next video released.
Abortion – White House Press Secretary Josh (“Baghdad Bob”) Ernest has resorted to branding the Planned Parenthood videos as “fraudulent”
and not official policy.
Abortion – Planned Parenthood is in danger of having it reputation destroyed permanently like ACORN and defunded as
an abortion mass marketer and an organ harvesting profiteer.
Gun
Control – Pew Research found that a majority
of Americans see guns as part of the solution, not the problem with gun
ownership helping protect people from becoming victims.
Homeland
Security – Homeland Security
chief Jeh Johnson refuses to call Islamic terror "Islamic," arguing it's "critical" to refrain from the label
in order to "build trust" among Muslims.
Elections - “The United States brags about its political system, but the President says one thing during the election, something else when he takes office, something else at midterm and something else when he leaves.” Deng Xiaoping.
Foreign Policy – Obama’s legacy will be most trips abroad, Secretary
of State visiting most countries and most miles, but unfortunately also
the least success to show for all this effort.
Iran – The Iran deal is a ten year delay of nuclear weapons development endorsed
by the six PS+1 nations, which coincidentally aligns with Mohammed’s
ten year hudna
deceitful truce.
Iran – The Treaty Clause
is clear that the President shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators concur.
Iran – Despite an
orchestrated marketing campaign to sell its virtues, CNN found that 52% OF the American
people oppose the nuclear development deal, while only 42% support it.
