Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
August 5, 2017
Freedom – “There
is nothing wrong with America that can not be cured
by what is right with America.” William J. Clinton.
Politics – I don’t know about
anyone else, but I want the Trump agenda to succeed
and America to become Great Again and don’t care about White House and partisan
infighting.
Politics – Today’s Congressional
inaction is further rationale for mandating term limits, since repeatedly sending the
same lousy politicians to Washington is the problem.
Politics – The Democrat Party
Progressivism new platform tries to hoodwink hardworking Americans into believing government
freebies and socialism are good things.
Politics - President Trump is not and has never been a
conservative, and conservatives must learn
to “deal” with the President if they
want to get anything done in Congress.
Politics – Forget healthcare for now, Congress has unfulfilled promises: slash corporate income
taxes, simplify personal income taxes, and regain control of immigration.
Politics – I hope sometime soon that Trump appeals directly to the American people to petition their
representatives to end this Russia election fishing expedition as a
waste of time.
Media – President Trump’s greatest
success is identifying the press as a political adversary and treating them
accordingly, but
his biggest failure has been not to replace the
media’s false narrative with a positive narrative of his own from the
bully pulpit of the Presidency.
Media – Despite a continuous
mainstream media bashing, President Trump’s
approval rating remains constant, buttressed by mainstream Americans,
who want his agenda to succeed.
Media – The Democrats
and the complicit mainstream media are nothing now but words and fantasy and
hallucination and Hollywood, exposed for all to see as petty and
partisan.
Freedom – “The greatest danger to
American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.” Thomas Jefferson.
Economy – Investors are
much more optimistic about the U.S. than most journalists, who write daily on the
latest alleged signal from Washington that civilization is heading into an
abyss.
Energy – Contrary to the media
narrative, the single largest source of electric
power in the United States for the first half of 2017 was coal.
Environment – Just like their U.S.
counterparts, Australian scientists at the Bureau of Meteorology
(BOM) were caught tampering with temperature logs in
several locations.
Healthcare
– Now
that the ObamaCare “repeal”
is history, the media has discovered that ObamaCare is slowly imploding and is not sustainable,
requiring immediate repair action.
Immigration – American civil
rights belong only to citizens,
and therefore illegal aliens who are not part of the American social compact
don’t have any constitutional rights..
Immigration
– Much
like Canada and Australia, President Trump is
trying to return our immigration system to one which favors those with needed
skills and who are self-sufficient.
Civil
Rights – The problem with
identity politics is that it pits racial minorities in “competitive victimhood” in a quest for recognition
of past sufferings such as slavery and colonialism, but their victimhood fosters
intergroup conflict and competition among the other minorities.
Civil Rights – Why doesn’t President
Trump declare Victory
in the War on Inequality and then dismantle all the federal departments
that institutionalizes discrimination, and creates more “affirmative action”
legislation to fix a problem that has already been
solved?
Sexuality - The transgender
issue is the
best example in American culture of an issue about which the elites feel one way but the majority of Americans feel
differently.
Drugs – Overdose deaths,
more than 52,400 in the United States in 2015, have far outstripped the toll for
guns or vehicle crashes, once the leading causes of accidental
deaths.
Freedom - “When
we honor our flag we honor what we stand for as a Nation – freedom,
equality, justice, and hope.” Ronald Reagan.
GWOT – Once
again the liberal media is complicit covering up two
California Islamic Imams who call for a rein of
terror and destruction on Jews.
Middle East – The
massive movement of Middle Eastern and African people
into Europe was no cataclysmic wartime event, but a deliberate and avoidable phenomenon facilitated by the
Turkish government and enabled by “deviously misleading (fake)” news
reporting.
Russia – In 2014, Russia’s GDP
was over $2 trillion, but by 2016 it was down 40% to $1.3 trillion, primarily due to fracking since so much of the GDP is based on the energy
industry.
Russia – How
ironic that it’s the Democrats with their focus on Russian election
interference are recreating
another cold war after cozying up the Russians during the last one.
Venezuela – Venezuela is a woeful
reminder that no country is so rich that it can’t
be mismanaged and driven into the ground by revolutionary socialism.
