Musings on the Week

                                                                                              August 11, 2018

Freedom – “There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect."  Ronald Reagan.

Politics – Barack Obama’s biggest mistake as president was talking about the politics of inclusion, while his actions were divisive and corrosive nursing grievances as prime tactic.

Politics – The Democrat Party has eroded into an amalgam of myriad identity-based groups, abandoning their traditional worker base and diluting its brand by embracing leftist fringes.

Politics – Democrats have produced so much fear and loathing that weak-kneed left-leaning Americans are coming down with a media induced mental illness that goes by two different names: Trump Anxiety Disorder (TAD) and Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

Politics – The Democrat civil war pits Establishment Democrats who want to run on an anti-Trump agenda, ginning up outrage over Trump's foibles to drive their voters to the polls, vs. the Far Left who want to push identity politics and the toxic agenda that comes with it.

Politics – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be today’s poster child for the Democrat-Socialists, but any American voter with half-a-brain quickly realizes that the socialist ideas proposed are unaffordable, impractical, and unsustainable and therefore just more leftist fantasies!

Politics – Every Democrat candidate endorsed by Ocasio-Cortez lost in last week’s primaries, proving that Democratic-Socialism is a splinter group rather than mainline Democrat thinking.

Politics – All of the “free stuff” that the Democratic-Socialists are promising will cost about $42.5 trillion over 10 years on top of what we’re already spending which would require seizing roughly 100% of all corporate profits and 100% of all family wage income to pay for it.

Politics – The Russians have been meddling already in the upcoming midterm elections with a series of advertisements on Facebook and Instagram, all promoting Democrat causes.

Politics – The closer we get to the November election and more and more Trump promises are kept and the likelihood of any Democrat wave becomes slimmer and slimmer.

Politics – If you are sick and tired of: Democrats criticizing everything and anything Trump does; Democrats obstructing in Congress; Democrats namecalling: racist, sexist, and homophobes; Democrats promising to reverse all the progress made… Vote in November!

Media – Donald Trump did not create distrust of the media; distrust of the media helped create him and the media doesn’t understand why so many Americans don’t like them.

Media – Trump opposes such techniques as leaving things out that completely change the story if diligently reported; de-contextualizing to create a false impression; repetition of negatives while averting one's gaze from anything positive; use of anonymous, uncheckable sources; all in the service of a particular agenda, a particular point of view.

Media – Trump is successful bypassing the mainstream media by talking directly to the American people via tweets and at political rallies, providing them a reality check.

Media - Candace Owens got banned from Twitter for writing the same filth as Sarah Jeong, the racist at The New York Times, when she switched the racial groups!

Media – The Left, including Facebook, YouTube, Apple, and Spotify, have all permanently banned Alex Jones as a tactic to be used to purge other “objectionable” free speakers.

Freedom – “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sleep to the slaughter.” George Washington.

Economy – Throughout history, Socialists have built border walls to keep their people in, while Capitalists built border walls to keep unwanted people out.

Economy – Only capitalism operating within an open and free society, can produce enough wealth to underwrite a social safety net for the general public, provide employment for the populace, and finance the basic services provided by government at all levels.

Economy – Capitalism celebrates the success of the individual, separately or together, who are driven by the motive of self-enrichment, produce goods and services desired by others, and in the process, jobs and wealth are created, benefiting society as a whole.

Economy – Socialism happens when those who give up on God seek to solve the problem of poverty, so they turn to the most powerful deity they still believe in, the federal government.

Economy – Socialism is the Big Lie of the twentieth century, promising prosperity, equality, and security, but delivering poverty, misery, and tyranny, with equality achieved only in the sense that everyone was equal in his or her misery.

Economy – Despite the media’s pervasive negativity, the American people are unable to ignore the record high employment, the record low unemployment, and the rising wages.

Economy – The U.S. retook 1st place as world’s most competitive economy, thanks to faster economic growth and a supportive atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation.

Politics – Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Spotify, Apple, YouTube) is revealed as leftist in their censorship filters, as exemplified by allowing racist and anti-Semitic content by Louis Farrakan, but blocking any right wing content as “hate speech.”

Environment – A Carbon Dioxide-led global greening is occurring, with climate-related deaths plummeting as industrialization and prosperity overcomes statism across the world.

Environment – The EPA found that including ethanol into the U.S. gas supply is wreaking havoc on the atmosphere (worse air emissions) and soil (greater nitrogen oxide emissions, harmful algae blooms, and stress on water sources) undermining value of ethanol mandates.

Environment – Since 2012, California Obama-era regulations blocked forest management because environmentalists would rather let forests burn, than let anyone thin out overgrown trees or professional loggers harvest usable timber left from beetle infestation, or cut timber.

Civil Rights – Racism exists today, primarily in the minds of the identity groups who refuse to see any progress in interpersonal relationships, but are invested in identity politics.

Civil Rights – Affirmative action and diversity targets are government institutionalized discrimination favoring certain groups and breeding contempt reinvigorating racial discord.

Civil Rights – Intersectionality” is how the left sets up a hierarchy of victimhood, rationalizing tradeoffs between victim groups absolving themselves of the perception of hatred.

Abortion – Abortion is the leading cause of death in the United States accounting for 61% of deaths of African Americans, making it the number one cause of death at nearly twice the number of deaths from heart disease and cancer.

Crime – August 4th marked the celebration of Barack Obama Day in Illinois, during one of the most violent weekends in Chicago with 12 killed and 62 wounded.

Freedom – “America will never be destroyed from the outside.  If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln.

GWOT – The main reason religious Muslims immigrate to other nations is to begin the process of taking that country over and making it an Islamic state (Hijrah - “jihad by emigration”).

Europe – The European Union tossed aside its post-national pose to back Muslim tribalism and its mass migration at the expense of the nation-state, and is suffering the consequences.

South Africa – A new apartheid is being enforced across South Africa, but this time the black majority is seizing white owned land, murdering whites and threatening genocide.
