Musings on the Week

October 6, 2018

Justice – "All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope."  Winston Churchill.

Politics – Since Trump's election, we have been bombarded daily by "Resisters" seeking to overturn the last election through verbal and physical assaults against President supporters.

Politics – The three primary reasons that people vote Democrat are: they want to rule over other Americans; they hate America; or they are ignorant dupes.

Politics - Identity politics is destroying the fabric of our nation polarizing America according to race, ethnic background, sex, sexual orientation, and politics, and pitting neighbors, family members and old friends against each other.

Politics - Democrats succeeded in creating a permanent black voting bloc by crying racist; and now are aiming to ride the women’s vote to victory by crying rapist.

Politics – Both Christine Ford and Brett Kavanaugh delivered an emotional performance at the confirmation hearing but no new evidence nor any corroboration of allegations, so no minds were changed and the only thing accomplished was further delay.

Politics – Another week-long FBI investigation of Kavanaugh allegations only delays the coronation of Christine Ford to join Anita Hill in the Democrat “Hall of Shame.”

Politics – Kavanaugh is a boomerang that comes back to knock the Democrats out, since a vote for Democrats is now a vote against due process, against justice, and against men.

Politics – Republican have become the party of Trump, as sissies, punks, RINOs, and never-Trumpers bail and the GOP is now a party that fights for normal Americans.

Politics - Trump does not have the character or strong Christian faith one expects from a president, but he is positively angelic compared to his political opponents and the press making the election choices just as easy as 2016, since the alternatives are so much worse.

Media – Retelling the same lie repeatedly does not make it true; retelling by another media outlet is not confirmation; and leaking to a partisan politician only compounds the lie.

Justice – "Until justice is blind to color, until education is unaware of race, until opportunity is unconcerned with the color of men's skins, emancipation will be a proclamation but not a fact.”  Lyndon B. Johnson.

Census – The federal government must conduct an accurate census every 10 years, including age, gender, ethnicity, citizenship, marital status, and homeownership.

Economy – When a nation embraces socialism, expect the worst: social dislocation, crime, economic decline, massive job losses, devaluation, hyperinflation, industrial collapse, mass emigration, government oppression and imprisonment, torture and murder of opposition.

Judiciary – Democrat obstruction in the Supreme Court confirmation process is a disgrace, and directing the full resources of the FBI to investigate what is at most a 36 year-old misdemeanor with a statute of limitation of one year is a complete waste of resources.

Judiciary – The latest FBI Kavanaugh investigation will find no “where” to investigate, no “when” to investigate, just a story that cannot be proven with no evidence or corroboration.

Judiciary – Republicans must retain the list of 1,700 law professors who wrote letters opposing Judge Kavanaugh as unfit for consideration as a judge, since partisanship is disqualifying.

Judiciary – How many times must a federal judge be overruled on appeal before they are removed from office based on incompetence?

Energy – Wind energy receives the most subsidies per unit of energy production, and the growth of the wind energy industry is dependent on billions of dollars yearly in government subsidies in the form of tax credits, depreciation allowances, and loan guarantees.

Environment – Climate alarmism is a Trojan horse to justify massive carbon taxes, which would be used not to save the planet, but to fund the most massive redistribution of wealth to undeveloped nations, all in the guise of "climate aid."

Education – In the 2015-16 school year, 5.8% of the nation's 3.8 million teachers were physically attacked by a student, and another 10% were threatened with injury.

Education – Public schools have done a poor job teaching U.S. history and civics, to the point that only 36% of Americans would pass the citizenship test given to immigrants.

Religion – Sexual abuse by priests has been overwhelmingly upon pubescent boys and young men which is really homosexual pederasty, endemic of a gay culture in the church.

Feminism – Most feminists are white and middle to upper class, educated, rebelled against decent parents and the “boredom” of living a normal, virtuous life, led teen and college years of promiscuity, alcohol and drugs , and have had an abortion, which leads to regrets, and been told that someone other than themselves, men, are to blame for the shame.

Sexuality – Permitting men who claim to feel like women (transgenders) in women’s restrooms has led to at least 21 crimes against women, from voyeurism to sexual assault.

Drugs – Colorado legalizing marijuana has proven no state ever saw promised revenues, pot use rose among children and teens, drug related violence, criminal activity, DUIs and accident fatalities increased, and industrial accidents and on-the-job injuries also rose.

Justice – “Peace and justice are two sides of the same coin.” Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Trade – Trump promised to renegotiate and replace NAFTA with an improved, more fair trade agreement and delivered a new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Sweden – Sweden is only able to afford its welfare state as a result of capitalist policies: deregulation, strong protections of private property rights, privatization of failed state enterprises, strong support of free trade, and a national school voucher system.
