Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
October 10, 2015
Power - ““We have the power to make this the best generation of mankind in the history of the world - or to make it the last.”.”
Politics – When Obama describes “common sense” “pragmatic” “non-ideological” solutions, he is describing adjectives that only exist in the leftist bizarre-land where progressives inhabit.
Politics – Liberals measure success based on intentions and process (miles traveled, meetings held, or money spent) and not on problems solved or objectively measured improvements.
Politics – Barack Obama politicizes every crisis to justify laws that would not prevent the crisis from re-occurring, but would impose controls that were never needed in the beginning.
Politics – Out of the 84-86 new GOP members who swept the House in the GOP takeover of 2010, there are only 4-5 left who remain conservative, the rest becoming moderates.
Constitution – Constitutional activism is supported by the Amendment process, while judicial activism is an un-Constitutional encroachment by un-elected judges.
Language – Political correctness has exaggerated any disagreement into a heinous “hate crime” if one dares to disagree with the one who is talking, no matter how small the topic.
Politics - This week’s distractions from the sluggish economy and ObamaCare: federal release of 6,000 prisoners and Russian confused war in Syria.
Politics – Just like the “liar-in-chief,” Barack Obama, every time Hillary Clinton says anything, the first question in peoples’ minds is “I wonder how much of what was said is actually true!”
Politics – Hillary Clinton is not being sabotaged by the Vast Right Wing conspiracy, but rather much closer to home, in the White House, lead by Obama’s Rasputin, Valerie Jarrett.
Politics – Each successive email dump provides further evidence that Hillary Clinton lied, her server contained classified information, and classified information was not properly secured.
Politics – Hillary Clinton’s strategy to “deny, lie, and obstruct” the Benghazi investigation has backfired destroying her personal credibility and any perception of trustworthiness.
Politics – As a proud member of the silent majority and a Tea Party member, I love some of the things that Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson are saying, but the best choice for America in 2016 is still Ted Cruz for President and Marco Rubio for Vice President.
Politics – The GOP leadership coup, with pressure from the grass roots base, is an opportunity to reset direction from a “slow drift to the left” to a “return to conservative principles.”
Power - ““The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.” Ayn Rand.
Deficit – GAO said Medicare, Medicaid, and Earned Income Tax Credit are responsible for 75% of the $19 billion in erroneous payments the federal government made in fiscal 2014.
Income – More than half of all U.S. taxpayers moved into a different income quintile between 1996 and 2005, with half of those in the poorest quintile moving to a higher income.
Poverty – Even the poorest regions of the United States are vastly wealthier and better developed than comparable regions in poor countries, such as sub-Saharan Africa.
Recycling – Despite government claims, recycling has proven not economically justified and not environmentally justified, and its only real benefit is that it makes you feel good.
Immigration – The Center for Immigration Studies revealed that 9,295 alien offenders that ICE was seeking to deport were released in 2014 including 600 people released at least twice.
Gun Control - Gun control has nothing to do with saving lives, because if lives mattered, Planned Parenthood would have been deconstructed long ago, and the nightly “mass shootings” in Chicago, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and every other Democrat-run city with “gun control” would be openly acknowledged and confronted.
Gun Control - The 15 states with the strictest gun laws are, in order: California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Rhode Island, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.
Crime – The inconvenient truth is that the mass murderers we have seen recently are, without exception, denizens of the left, indoctrinated and enabled by the liberal establishment.
Elections – A 2014 study found that 6.4% of the noncitizen population voted illegally in the 2008 election, enough to have changed the outcome of contests in a number of states.
Religion – Since Christians are being targeted worldwide, Ben Carson and Sarah Palin may be on the right path with #IAmAChristian to garner support for this endangered religion.
Power - “We defend and we build a way of life, not for America alone, but for all mankind.” Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Foreign Policy – Obama’s strategy is to treat all countries as global partners, irrespective of anything they say or do, and delay all conflicts until they can be blamed on Republicans.
United Nations – The biggest inefficient waste of time and effort is the creation of a “Secure Cities Network” as an alternative channel for information sharing to combat terrorism.
Trade – The Trans-Pacific Partnership is an anti-democratic deal which includes much more than trade agreements and also signs away our right to govern our own economy.
Defense – Obama is willing to dramatically cut America’s military spending to prioritize closing Guantanamo prison to further his leftist agenda and fulfill a campaign promise.
GWOT – Until this administration acknowledges that Islamic religion cannot be separated from government, our responses to attacks around the world will be ineffective.
Syria – Russia has employed the “shock and awe” type of attack in its approach to decapitating ISIS in Syria, destroying command centers and headquarters first.
Europe – Obama’s reluctance to use military force to protect American interests has revealed NATO as a toothless organization incapable of protecting its own interests.
