Musings on the Week

Musings on the Week

October 20, 2018

Leadership – "It is time for us to realize that we’re too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams."  Ronald Reagan.

Politics – Every time Brett Kavanaugh is mentioned there should be a caveat that he was “falsely accused of sexual assault by partisan activists” to clear his name.

Politics – “Woke” Americans are the most clueless among us and willfully fall prey to every leftist claim and theory they stumble upon and their trap is political correctness.

Politics – Democrat “resistance” has been revealed as an “angry mobencouraged by political leaders and it hurts when the American voters see reality acted out in the open.

Politics – Campuses set up “safe spaces” to offer college students shelter from the possibility of hearing opinions they disagree with, and now mobs try to shut down any opposition.

Politics – The Democrat mob is real and it’s not spontaneous or accidental, because the strategy is to keep their core voters as angry and afraid as possible so they go to the polls.

Politics – Since all the smears, lies, and name-calling has failed, the Democrats have nothing left, so like animals backed into a corner they resort to violence and attacks.

Politics – Democrats are afraid that after the November 6th election, as black voters leave their polling places, there will be increasing murmurs of "free at last!"

Politics – It may take until November 7 for Democrats to realize they have accomplished what many thought impossible: wrest from the GOP the title, “The Stupid Party.”

Politics – Donald Trump may be a unique politician who, despite a tendency to exaggerate his accomplishments, actually keeps his promises and does what he said he would do.

Politics – The 2016 election was the most important one in recent times since Trump is the first to finally roll back some of the progressive damage done over the last 100 years, and now 2018 may be second most important as it will determine whether this repair can continue.

Language – Democrats have replaced Happy Days’Fonzi jumping the shark” as an example of overreach with the Senate circus of personal destruction “Kavanaugh smear.”

Media – An independent media has a powerful role to play delivering information to the American public, but today’s mainstream media has been uncovered as a partisan tool of the Democrats and thus distrusted delivering a biased narrative of propaganda.

Responsibility – "We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker.  It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.”  Ronald Reagan.

Economy – The World Economic Forum ranked U.S. as world’s most competitive economy for the first time since 2008, as a result of tax cuts, deregulation and trade renegotiations.

Budget – The deficits cannot be fixed without entitlement reform, since the big 3 entitlement programs (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) together make up 46% of the federal budget, and each one of these are increasing and on a path to bankruptcy without reform.

Government – With the federal budget deficit reaching $779 billion, President Trump is asking Cabinet members to cut spending in their departments by 5% next fiscal year.

Finance – 81% of Initial BitCoin Offerings are scams, created by con artists, charlatans, and swindlers looking to take your money and run, and only 8% ever get traded on an exchange.

Social Media – The more we find that social media is censoring (filtering) what we say and read, the less we should depend on them as a source of factual information.

Family – In the U.S. nearly 40% of babies are born to unwed parents and the median age that someone marries has risen from the early 20’s to the late 20’s.

Patriotism – “Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it.” Mark Twain.

GWOT – Muslims believe the entire world must submit to Sharia law, which governs both public and private lives of Muslims, and there are only three choices in Islam: either willing submission; or payment of the jizya [tribute], or the sword (death).
