Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
October 22, 2016
Country – “It continues to defy explanation why liberals who theoretically love liberty, equality, tolerance and moderation, should find so much to despise in their own country, which represents the fullest expression of those virtues anywhere on the globe.” Mona Charon.
Politics – Millennials are today’s communist “useful idiots” educated in public propaganda factories, fed the news by a leftist media, and voting based on partisan half truths and lies.
Politics – After seeing Director Comey covering up the Hillary Clinton email scandal, we can safely add the FBI to the list of federal departments and agencies politicized by this Democrat administration: ATF, Treasury, IRS, BLS, Immigration, State, Education, Energy, Interior, Labor, Health / Human Services, Housing /Urban Development and Defense.
Media – The social media is a worse source of news information than the traditional mainstream media, since most newspapers and radio have some form of content control.
Politics - This week’s distractions from the economy, ObamaCare, and terrorism: use of drones in the USA and lack of military progress in the Middle East .
Politics – I hope sometime soon that the Presidential campaign will finally change from personal attacks to an objective comparison of domestic and foreign policy policies.
Politics – Hillary Clinton’s “Stronger Together” is a classic misnomer since her whole political strategy is to break the country into smaller and smaller victim groups for easy pandering.
Politics – Donald Trump’s charge of the election being rigged is accurate at two levels: voter fraud of all types, and the media used as a “weapon of mass distraction” for Hillary Clinton.
Politics – Democrats have used trained provocateurs to instigate violence at Republican events nationwide throughout the 2016 election cycle, including at several Trump rallies.
Politics – Donald Trump has called Hillary Clinton “crooked” and “nasty”: both labels are accurate, both labels are demeaning, and both label should be politically disqualifying.
Scandals – Wikileaks documents provide proof of Benghazi coverup, State Department email server crimes, and Clinton Foundation “pay for play” quid pro quo but the media ignored this flurry of bombshells while focusing on unproven sexual misconduct allegations by Trump.
Debate – Finally, the third presidential debate got around to discussing real national issues and was stage managed by a tough, but fair moderator, Chris Wallace.
Scandals – Patrick Kennedy should join Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin, and Cheryl Mills in the Clinton wing of the federal prison based on corruption, perjury, and obstruction of justice.
Media – After days, weeks, months of Donald Trump’s record-breaking rallies in locations all across the nation, it is hard to believe Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the polls.
Media –The reason for skewed poll numbers are twofold: 1) discourage Trump supporters, and 2) to serve as cover for the massive voter fraud that is planned for November 8th.
Government - “The government is not your salvation. The government is not your road to prosperity. Hard work, education will take you far beyond what any government program can ever promise.” Mia Love.
Debt – The official federal government debt is almost $20 trillion, but this does not include over $200 trillion in off-budget unfunded liabilities, primarily Medicare and Social Security.
Finance – The Federal Reserve claims to not be politicized, but do not be surprised that the long overdue interest rate increase will be delayed until after the Presidential election.
Pension – Five states (Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Texas) responsible for half of state unfunded liabilities, which amounts to a $1.2 trillion shortfall in pension funding.
Jobs – Despite improved “graduation” rates, U.S. public schools are not producing sufficient numbers of workers able to perform at a level needed for the 21st century workplace.
Healthcare – ObamaCare is a huge step towards nationalizing health care, but suffers from substandard care, inflated premiums, and unhappy consumers who never wanted it.
Healthcare – A majority (72%) of Americans oppose bailing out private insurance companies on failing ObamaCare exchanges, hiding the true coast of ObamaCare.
Environment – Climate alarmists depend on model predictions for their fear mongering since when these predictions are tested against real-world observations, they don’t fare well.
Elections – The Heritage Foundation’s “Does Your Vote Count” project tracks voter fraud and now contains 430 criminal convictions for election fraud in multiple states.
Crime – Despite declines in recent years, the “war on cops” has resulted in 46 officers shot to death so far this year, a staggering 55% increase over the number seen this time in 2015.
Crime – Recidivism among felons is extremely high, with over two-thirds of released prisoners rearrested within three years, and three quarters rearrested within five years.
Abortion – In the wake of a series of undercover videos showing profit being made from selling aborted baby parts, 15 states have attempted to cut funding to Planned Parenthood.
Abortion – Stanton Healthcare is a nonprofit medical facility that provides pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and client advocacy that respect the dignity of the mother and child – essentially a pro-life alternative to Planned Parenthood, without the abortion services.
Government – “We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.” Ayn Rand.
Foreign Policy – Since Woodrow Wilson, Democrats committed the U.S. to unachievable objectives, sought in concert with peoples either indifferent to them or outright enemies of America, and seeking to mind others’ business and forgetting to mind America’s business.
Politics – The top ten recipients of 2015-2016 campaign contributions from individuals who subscribe to Islamic supremacism were 9 Democrats, 1 independent and no Republicans.
Politics – This administration apparently doesn’t care if defense secrets are hacked, but outage erupted when hackers were able to access Democrat Party political dirty dealing!
