Musings on the Week
October 25, 2014
Accountability - “We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” Ronald Reagan.
Politics – The growing concern over the possible spread of Ebola in the United States is Barack Obama’s equivalent of George W. Bush’s Katrina management problem.
Politics – Obama has been criticized for serving politics over national security; the choice of Klain for Ebola Czar suggests the White House sees ebola as political, not medical problem.
Politics – Gallup found the most important voter issues in order are: first - the economy, good jobs, federal government, Islamic militants, equal pay, budget deficits, foreign affairs, taxes, immigration, ObamaCare, wealth distribution, abortion, and last: climate change.
Politics – It is very strange that the Democrat and the Republican campaign slogans are the same “Vote for me, I am not Barack Obama!”
Politics - This week’s distractions from the stagnant economy and ObamaCare: ebola epidemic panic and terrorist attacks in Canada.
Debt - “We don't have a trillion-dollar debt because we haven't taxed enough; we have a trillion-dollar debt because we spend too much.” Ronald Reagan.
Budget – According to the Treasury Department, federal tax revenue exceeded $3 trillion in fiscal year 2014, the first time revenue surpassed this mark, yet still almost a $500 billion deficit.
Housing – The Federal Housing Finance Agency is officially lowering lending standards for the entire mortgage industry proving that Democrats are incapable of learning from mistakes.
Energy – Data from the top 10 wind power states shows that, contrary to industry promises, electricity prices rose an average of 20.7%, which is seven times the national price increase.
Energy – The administration is trying to convince us that drops in oil process are bad and a signal of worldwide economic collapse, which is total rubbish, opposite of economic reality.
Healthcare – Dr. Nicole Lurie is the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response has been totally ineffectual “leading the nation in preventing, responding to and recovering from adverse health effects of public health emergencies.”
Healthcare – Almost nothing said about ObamaCare has proven to be true, so no surprise that for the 150th straight poll, Americans oppose ObamaCare by a margin of 53% to 41%.
Crime – Another Obama legacy is the belief that violent black mobs can attack white people without punishment, since the DOJ only counts “hate crimes” by white people!
Democracy - “Democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.” Ronald Reagan.
GWOT – Americans who leave the country to fight for terrorist groups should have their passports revoked for treason, and prohibited from returning to this country.
Defense – Obama is wasting over 4,000 101st Airborne Division troops to provide humanitarian support and “lead the military response to ebola in West Africa,” in a time of military need.
