Musings on the Week

October 28, 2017

Government – “There are a number of things wrong with Washington.  One of them is that everyone is too far from home.” Dwight David Eisenhower.

Politics - Trump Derangement Syndrome is being taken to a whole new level as thousands of progressives in Boston and Philadelphia will engage in scream fests on November 8th to commemorate the anniversary of Donald Trump's election.

Politics – Donald Trump lost California in November by 3 million votes, which means he was effectively tied with Hillary Clinton in the other states prior to California votes being included.

Politics – The only reason for all the racist, homophobic, bigotry bafflegab is that progressives are trying to distract small-minded people from all the good that Trump is doing for America.

Politics – It is repulsive to listen to the most divisive President in history, Barack Obama, who exploited race to divide and conquer this country, lecture us on unity and harmony.

Politics – Just when you thought liberals had sunk as low as they could, they break out the shovel and start digging, since nothing is sacred; nothing is off limits; everything is political.

Politics – The Russia election probe found evidence Hillary Clinton and the DNC paid for the Fusion GPS/Steele dossier fraud for opposition research as a pre-election smear campaign.

Politics – The Clinton campaign commissioned Fusion GPS to perform opposition research, but, questioning its veracity, Clinton then had Fusion GPS anonymously leak the contents to the media to orchestrate a backdoor smear based on lies and innuendo.

Politics – I will not trust the Department of Justice again until they indict Hillary Clinton, and possibly Obama, for bribery and cover-up associated with the Russia Uranium One deal.

Politics – Conservatives are not sorry to see a growing list of anti-Trump incumbents announcing their retirement rather than face an embarrassing loss in Republican primaries.

Politics – Despite the drumbeat of negativity, there is no civil war in the Republican Party, and not even widespread disaffection with the President among rank-and-file GOP voters.

Government – Given communism’s historically unprecedented record of slaughter, torture, mass imprisonment, brutal occupation, and utter failure to achieve its workers’ paradise of justice and equality, the question is why anyone endorses the evil of a totalitarian ideology.

Demographics – Millennials and Gen-Z display a lack of critical thinking based on vapid sloganeering, hashtags, and chants, without any basis in rational or logical evidence.

Media – There’s nothing liberal “journalists” won’t spin, won’t lie about, and no hypocrisy too great to prevent them from smearing their political opponents.

Security – "If you want total security, go to prison.  There you’re fed, clothed, given medical care and so on.  The only thing lacking is freedom."  Dwight David Eisenhower.

Economy – There is a global contest underway between two economic and political models: one model is capitalism and freedom vs. the other is socialism and communism.

Economy – The Dow is up nearly 5,000 points, or about 27%, since Election Day, and consumer confidence and economic optimism are also up.

Finance – Trump would be wise to choose a head of the Federal Reserve who questions the role and effectiveness of a Central Bank, and is open to redefinition or decommissioning.

Energy –, Biodiesel costs over $1.30 more than regular diesel made from petroleum, and despite this far higher cost, it gets fewer miles per gallon than conventional biodiesel.

Immigration – Immigrants who travel to this country to become an American, learn our language, participate in our economy, and enjoy our culture - welcome; but it you travel to this country to change it into something like you left, you are an invader and not welcome.

Healthcare – The Democrat plan “Medicare for All” coverage for all Americans has already been rejected by Vermont, Colorado, and California as unworkable and unaffordable!

Elections Gerrymandering” is a Democrat-developed tactic to ensure re-election which is criticized today by hypocritical Democrats who have since lost the majority.

Education – Based on 2014 ACT test results, only one in 20 Black students were rated college-ready in all four areas: English, reading, mathematics and science, while Whites were nearly seven times as likely as Blacks to be college ready in all four areas.

War – “I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity.” Dwight David Eisenhower.

GWOT - Trump is having success in the Global War on Terror because he has unleashed the military to execute strategies unimpeded by second-guessing politicians.

Middle East – The United States should step aside and let the Middle East to redraw their own national boundaries into religious onesSunni-stan (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain); Shiia-stan (Tran, Iraq); Kurdi-stan (Syria, Turkey); Alewite-stan (Syria, Lebanon); and Israel, of course!

Turkey – Turkey will have to decide on its direction to align with Sunni or Shiia Islamist regimes or with democratic NATO, because the two ideologies are mutually exclusive.
