  Musings on the Week

Politics - Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you!” Pericles.

Politics – Liberalism was rolled out and was finally held accountable for its failed ideas, as its leader, Obama, was on the election ticket and the jury of voters ruled him to be guilty.

Politics – Nearly two-thirds of the electorate (65%) believe the country is on the “wrong track” and three-quarters of voters say life for their children will be the same (27%) or worse (48%).

Politics – We are witnessing the total collapse of Obamaism, a quasi-socialist commitment to a more powerful government at home and an abdication of American leadership abroad.

Politics President Obama refuses to listen to the voters, who repudiated Democrat policies at the national, state and local levels, and responded with a re-commitment to failed ideas.

Scandals No scandal has been resolved: entrenched political cover-ups, no one held accountable, no measures to prevent repeat performance… just next scandal distraction.

Scandals After claiming that emails were lost in a computer crash, the IRS was forced to admit that they had not searched for the missing emails in any of their computer systems.

Politics – Barack Obama has soured the Progressive brand for Hillary Clinton, who can’t sell her books, can’t fill the seats for her speeches, and whose messages fall flat at her rallies.

Politics – The Clintons were the public face of the Democrats, but their campaign assistance, instead of turning results around, had no positive impact on the candidates they supported.

Politics - This week’s distractions from the stagnant economy and ObamaCare: amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and the threatened Russian invasion into Ukraine.

Politics – The TEA Party was a critical part of the Republican wave, providing grassroots support by knocking on thousands of doors and making 2.4 million get-out-the-vote calls.

Politics – This election sent a clear mandate to stop President Obama’s radical agenda by restoring traditional American values, cutting taxes, securing our borders, backing our allies, and understanding the difference between workplace violence and acts of terrorism.

Politics – Congress’s first order of business should be to reverse the perception of gridlock by performing their primary duty to pass an annual federal budget for the President’s signature.

Politics – The Senate Republicans must hit the ground running in January and begin the process of voting on the 352 bills that have been gathering dust on Harry Reid’s desk all year.

Politics – As Republicans control both houses in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid can no long bottle up laws as Republicans will force Obama to finally sign or veto legislation.

Government -A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.” George Bernard Shaw.

Economy – Nearly six years after the Obama administration’s $1 trillion stimulus spending program, 22% of the electorate rate the economy “poor” and 48% say “not so good.”

Economy – The economy added 214,000 jobs in October, but the labor participation rate continues to mask the impact, with unemployment at 5.8% and stagnant hourly earnings.

Economy – Democrats are desperate to lower economic expectations embracing “secular stagnation” to rewrite history to make their economic mis-steps and poor results acceptable.

Finance – the Fed’s Qualitative Easing program has boosted equity prices, while hammering ordinary savers and pensioners while handing a massive wealth transfer to bailed-out banks.

Healthcare – Obama is planning to import Ebola victims into the United States, a move that jeopardizes American lives for no reason other than to redistribute both wealth and health.

Healthcare – Australia and Canada have joined 22 other countries banning visas for citizens of Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea because of concerns over then spread of Ebola.

Healthcare – The deadly EV-D68 enterovirus epidemic was spread across America by the decision to disperse thousands of Central American illegal alien children across the country.

Healthcare – The ObamaCare personal mandate is estimated to bring in $139 billion over 10 years into the U.S. Treasury, but has resulted in lower employment and reduced incomes.

Welfare – Democrats measure “success” of welfare by how many people can be enrolled in this entitlement “way of life,” vs. Republicans who gauge success by how quickly people can move off the “safety net” of government assistance and into remunerative work.

Energy – The Obama administration strategy is to: demonize coal; keep the poor in the dark; and pushing the fantasy that government action is essential to deal with climate change.

Elections – Nearly 1 in 8 voter registrations are inaccurate, out-of-date, or duplicates with 2.8 million registered in 2 or more states and 1.8 million registered voters have died.

Civil Rights – Our first black President billed himself as a “uniter, not a divider,” but polls suggest that far from healing America’s racial wounds, he instead have re-opened them.

Civil Rights – Democrats refuse to accept progress on race relations, and instead choose to re-fight problems and conditions that have not existed for over fifty years.

Government - In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a government.” John Adams.

GWOT – President Obama has released 620 people from Guantanamo and as many as 180 have returned to the battlefield, again inflicting death and destruction in the War on Terror.

Middle East – Obama stumbled into a Middle East quagmire, and now we see he backed rebel groups that are surrendering their military bases and weapons supplies to Al-Qaeda.

Iran – Obama’s failed foreign policy strategies have earned him the disrespect from foreign leaders who doubt his veracity, including Iranian leaders who won’t even answer his letters.

Mexico – Obama saw little political value helping Marine Sergeant Tahmooressi, so he left him to languish in a Mexican jail for eight months for an accidental border infraction.
