Musings on the Week
Musings on the Week
November 14, 2015
Freedom - “The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object.” Thomas Jefferson.
Politics
– The biggest pitfall of “liberalism” (progressivism, socialism, communism)
is that “progress”
never ceases until it eventually collapses on itself
(see USSR).
Media
– It is amazing when the moderators moderate, a
candidate issues debate broke out –
Thank You, Fox Business News!
Politics
– Under
Obama,
Democrats lost 13 Senate seats and 69 House seats in
Congress, 12 governorships, 30 state legislative chambers and more than 900
state legislative seats.
Scandal
– The GAO is pursuing the $3.2 out of the $4.6 billion in grants awarded
to the states for the failed ObamaCare
exchanges that was not spent on the exchanges.
Media
– More than 90% of journalists in
Washington, D.C. vote for Democrats, which creates a distorted prism through which
political news gets reported to the rest of the U.S.
Politics
- This week’s
distractions from the sluggish economy and ObamaCare:
homelessness in Hawaii and Chinese yuan pushed as global
currency standard.
Politics – Apparently Hillary Clinton
has already lined up enough Democrat insiders to
guarantee her nomination, which is all the more reason for the FBI to
finish up and indict her!
Politics – In addition to Hillary Clinton, how many of her aides and associates will the FBI also indict
for various security violations and covering up her political lies and
half truths?
Politics
– The Clinton Foundation is a money-laundering façade
that must be investigated as an illegal
scheme to hide foreign money received and repackage for personal use
Media
– There has been more fact checking on
Ben Carson’s
past in two weeks than the total cumulative fact checking that took place on Barack Obama in the last ten years.
Media – The design
point for the Republican debates is to help Republican voters decide who is the best Republican candidate for President, so
Republican moderators make sense.
Media – The Republican Party should pilot on Fox News (the closest we have to an
objective media source) simul-casting a future debate over
the internet, and bypass other sources.
Media – The design
point for the Presidential debates is to help American voters decide who is the best candidate for President, so objective,
non-partisan moderators make sense.
Freedom
– “True
individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence.
People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are
made.” Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Finance
– The Federal Reserve is postponing
the return to market interest rates until the increased debt service impact can be pinned on the next
Republican President.
Immigration – No
country is obligated to accept immigrants from any other country, and
only accepts them if it is in the best national interests of the receiving
country!
Immigration – There
is nowhere else for Americans who want limited
government, individual freedom, and Judeo-Christian culture to emigrate to,
once this country is “transformed!”
Energy – It took seven years
for Obama to make a political decision to kill the
Keystone XL pipeline jobs for climate-change
symbolism, since environmental impact is minimal.
Environment – Climate
change zealots want to arrest people (deniers) who
disagree with their opinions, but don’t realize they would be convicted for being factually correct!
Sexuality – California
declared sanctuary for Immigrants, so why
shouldn’t Kentucky’s Governor Bevin declare sanctuary for marriage
and not allow same-sex marriage?
Civil Rights – “White
privilege” is a false narrative: the
only privilege that exists in this country is that of being an American citizen with all of the privileges and
opportunities it entails.
Civil Rights – The
Black Lives Matter movement is based on a mythology
that innocent black men are being murdered by racist cops, despite repeated
proofs that this is not happening.
Civil Rights – Racial
mob rule forced the resignation of the University of
Missouri President demonstrating “football is
king” and what happens when “inmates run the asylum.”
Education
– Reading instruction says don’t
learn phonics,
instead memorize sight-words by their shapes, which has created 50 million functional illiterates in this country.
Freedom
- “The cost
of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we
shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission.” John F. Kennedy.
Defense – In three years
(2011-2014), the U.S. has cut defense spending by 18.8%, while China and Russia have
increased defense spending by nearly one third.
GWOT – Taqiyya is the Islamic doctrine,
since the 7th century that allows Muslims to
confuse and deceive non-Muslims in furtherance of their faith.
GWOT – Obama vetoed the National
Defense Authorization Act because it explicitly banned transferring Guantanamo prisoners
to the U.S., so now he will try an EO to bypass
Congress.
