  Musings on the Week

November 15, 2014

Liberty - Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. Thomas Jefferson.

Politics – When Democrats win by landslide, the left claims it is because of “good sense” of the American people, but when Republicans win by a landslide it must reflect “dysfunction.”

Politics – Each of the last five Presidents have had to weather a recession during their tenure, but all but this President took action rather than simply whining and blame-shifting.

Politics – Obama’s has surrounded himself with synchophants who stroke his ego, but provide little constructive criticism, except for his “Mini-Me” leftist conscience, Valerie Jarrett.

Politics – Jonathan Gruber, the MIT economist and ObamaCare architect, has confessed to treating American voters as “stupid,” intentionally writing deceptive laws, and has succeeded at completely undermining administration political integrity and credibility.

Politics – Democrats rely on racism because, without the perception of serious ongoing racism in our culture, the identity politics on which the Party depends would disintegrate.

Politics Republicans control 24 state legislatures; while Democrats control only 7 (Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, California, Oregon, and Hawaii); with the rest divided.

Politics – Tuesday exit polls asked who would they to vote for President in 2016 and recorded Hillary Clinton with 24% losing to “any Republican candidate to be named later” with 40%.

Politics – People are bored of Hillary Clinton who is “dull, grating, inauthentic, over-eager, an elitist with ideological blinders yet no particular vision and is likely to be reduced to running on a dubious promise of experience and competence while faking idealism and hope.”

Politics - This week’s distractions from the stagnant economy and ObamaCare: impending unpopular amnesty executive orders and faux treaty with Iran on nuclear weapon program.

Media – American voters roundly condemn election push-polling and robo-calls, and increasingly refuse to participate in polling pre-election surveys.

Liberty -Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.” Thomas Jefferson.

Jobs – There are 1.2 million more 25-54 year old American workers who are unemployed than there was in 2007 (adjusting for population growth), but 3.7 million fewer of them have jobs.

Income – Democrats’ case for income inequality is bogus, because the average pay of CEOs in this country is actually $178,400m, roughly four times the pay of the average worker.

Environment – Republicans must disavow the bogus Global Warming narrative based on carbon dioxide as the target culprit, computer models, and all costs with no climate benefit?

Healthcare – ObamaCare’s complex system of insurance regulation is designed to conceal its true intent to redistribute wealth from the young and healthy to the old and unhealthy.

Healthcare – Democrats are buzy lowering expectations for ObamaCare enrollments, but nothing can hide the disastrous performance when compared to original promises.

Healthcare – Immigrants and their children accounted for 42% of the growth in Medicaid enrollment, despite being technically ineligible for “public charge” program assistance.

Internet – Net Neutrality” is a 21st Century Trojan Horse, filled with federal bureaucrats itching to control the single most powerful tool of the modern age: free and unfettered internet.

Justice – Loretta Lynch has an uncanny ability to detect phantoms of white racism lurking ominously around every corner that guides her racialist interpretation of the law.

Marriage – One in five adults have never married with a majority of American adults are now single including the mothers of two out of every five newborns.

Crime – Ferguson, Missouri remains a powder keg of anti-establishment anarchists waiting patiently for any excuse to explode into riots to further their cornucopia of grievances.

Liberty - He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression: for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach unto himself.” Thomas Paine.

Middle East – Obama’s reactive foreign policy has caused him to exit Iraq as promised, but then return with no defined goals, objectives, measures of success, or completion criteria.

Middle East – ISIS, the main target of U.S. bombings in Syria and Iraq, cannot be defeated, or even stalled much, by a mere air campaign, which has been half-hearted at best anyway.

Middle East – The most under-reported story concerns the discrimination and persecution of Christian communities across the Middle East by Islamic extremists who offer “convert or die!

Iran – Iran has no need for a nuclear energy plant and a majority of Iranians are opposed to any and all nuclear installations under an Islamist-controlled regime.

Israel – Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel since 1,000 BC and was mentioned by name more than 500 times in the Bible, but Jerusalem was never mentioned in the Koran.
