Musings on the Week

December 12, 2015

Freedom - “If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.” James Madison.

Politics – Barack Obama has single-handedly destroyed America’s standing in the world and our relationship with our allies: aided and abetted rise of ISIS and other terrorist groups as well as enemies like Iran, Russia, and China; and  fomented division and unrest here at home.

Politics – The seven years of the Obama administration, contrary to the President’s intention, have discredited the federal government as an instrument to improve people’s lives.

Politics – Obama is suffering from “Irish Democracy where we, the people” resist mandates by our would-be rulers simply by refusing to comply, waiting patiently for his term to expire.

Politics – Obama’s terrorism (“malaise”) speech reinforced the fact that our detached President has no clear plan to defeat terrorism; only to exit and leave for the next President.

Politics – Instead of fighting ISIS, Obama wants to fight the Bill of Rights, targeting Americans who cling to their guns and bibles or are carbon emitters, with more intrusive laws.

Politics – Despite Obama’s threats to veto, Congress will deliver an ObamaCare repeal bill that he can veto, and ignore the will of the people who never wanted it in the first place.

Politics - This week’s distractions from the economy, ObamaCare, and terrorism: Ineffective gun control laws and number and type of Syrian refugees to accept into United States.

Politics – Despite best efforts to bury evidence of Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi malfeasance, the smoking gun” email has emerged proving she was the source of the “stand down” order.

Politics – Even the Clinton Foundation can’t cover all the campaign promises Hillary Clinton is making, which total close to $1 trillion and magically funded only by taxing the “rich.”

Politics – One of the downsides of being in the public spotlight for decades is previous miscues never go away, so now Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi lies are exposed within minutes.

Politics – After two terms of a runaway progressive transformation, Hillary Clinton has the opportunity to run as the Obama third term and be the Walter Mondale of the 2016 election.

Politics – Donald Trump serves a real national need for open and honest discussion on critical issues, since he reflects the pent-up anger felt by the Silent Majority of American voters,

Politics – As the GOP wakes up after flirting with their outsider candidates, Ted Cruz has emerged as the best candidate that can not only win the election but also lead the country.

Freedom - “Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.” James Madison.

Economy – Obama sabotaged the economy with huge debt and zero interest rates, and since all indicators are for another recession, he is timing it for the next Republican President.

Pensions – The Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation reports that it had a $76.3 billion shortfall in 2015, and its multiemployer program will become insolvent in 2025.

Housing – The Obama administration never forgets a bad idea, so they are reinstituting the policies that caused the 2008 financial crisis, offering risky home loans to risky borrowers, and these new subprime lenders have cornered the market for FHA and other government loans.

Healthcare – Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that ObamaCare will shrink the labor force  by 0.86% in 2025, equivalent to approximately 2 million full-time workers.

Environment – The UN Green Climate Fund is a poorly disguised redistribution of wealth scheme ($100 billion annually) based on reparations penalizing developed countries.

Immigration – The Koran and Hadith are indisputably political as well as religious documents, and their Sharia politics are incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.

Immigration – The US Citizenship and Immigration Service is changing the Oath of Allegiance incorporating an exemption from military service if conflicts with (Muslim) religious beliefs.

Education – The latest National Assessment of Educational Progress showed progress in math flatling and reading scores dropping, so why do we fund the Department of Education?

Education – The Labor Department says the majority of new American jobs over the next decade do not need a college degree, so time to stop promoting college-for-all crusades.

Civil Rights – Affirmative Action college admissions hurt whites and Asians to make room for minorities, but also harms less qualified Hispanics and African Americans unable to compete.

Civil Rights – Civil rights victim-ology has sunk to new lows, with “self-identifying” leadership, and fake hate crimes manufactured by victims themselves to feed the grievance market.

Family – The accumulation of child support debt is an invisible problem with non-resident parents about $53 billion in arrears for child support and little expectation it will ever improve.

Gun Control – One legacy of the Obama administration is a loss of security in the country’s ability to protect them, causing increased sales of firearms to protect themselves.

Crime – According to the FBI, gun violence has declined as part of an overall decline in violent crime, but what has changed is the media providing visibility of each and every crime everywhere, feeding the false perception of a pervasive increase in crime.

Crime – According to Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology: "[I]ndividuals who use cannabis regularly, or who begin using cannabis at earlier ages, at increased risk of adverse outcomes, including: lower levels of educational attainment; welfare dependence and unemployment; using other, more dangerous illicit drugs; and psychotic symptomatology."

Freedom - “A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best most natural defense of a free country.” James Madison.

Trade – Trans-Pacific Partnership creates a commission with full power to amend the agreement and an arbitration mechanism without member nation approval – just say NO!

Defense – Government Accountability Institute found that President Obama has attended less than half (41%) of Presidential Daily Briefs, with non-attendance increasing in 2nd term.

Military – Opening up all combat roles to women has unintended consequence that may be politically sensitive, as women should also be required to register with Selective Service draft.

Military – As with all liberal ideas, women in combat is justified with equality as its intended goal, but implementation will quickly ignore this goal to require quotas and lower standards.

GWOT Barack Obama is his own “Baghdad Bob” clinging desperately to his narrative that “terrorists are on the run,” and no amount of facts or evidence could possibly dissuade him.

GWOT – Obama is clearly bigoted against Christian and Jewish Americans, valuing Muslim feelings over American lives, favoring Muslim immigrants over Christian and Jewish refugees.

GWOT – If Attorney General Loretta Lynch truly wants to eliminate hate speech, then she should close down mosques and ban the Koran and not impose Islamic blasphemy laws.

Europe – Belgium is the “canary in the coal mine” of unassimilated immigrants whose lesson is to protect the national culture and governance before immigrants outnumber the natives.

Syria – Muslim immigrants are welcome if they want to enjoy the American way of life, but they are not welcome if they want to change the culture and ideology to Sharia-compliant.

Iran – The UN Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran was actively pursuing a nuclear weapon, deliberately covering up its activities, and continues to lie about it.

Iran – Iran test-launched two medium range ballistic missiles, violating two UN resolutions, but the U.S. will not enforce its new deal and “snap-back” the agreement sanctions!
