Musings on the Week

Musings on the Week

December 20, 2014

Constitution - The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon. George Washington.

Politics President Obama and his White House are celebrating a “milestone year” of economic recovery, but unfortunately the American public does not share their view.

Scandals Despite attempts to dismiss it, the IRS scandal will not go away because 70% of Americans say the investigation should last until “someone is held accountable.”

Politics - This week’s distractions from the stagnant economy and ObamaCare: Michelle Obama’s hypersensitive stroll though Target and normalizing relations with Cuba.

Politics Everything about the Hillary Clinton myth is actually a media narrative with every aspect unsupported by any factual evidence of real achievement or accomplishment.

Politics Senators Cruz and Lee are being criticized for consistent application of conservative principles which accurately predicts their legislative voting record.

MediaWe are witnessing the death rattle of the liberal mainstream media as its consumer base erodes and its journalistic integrity implodes and its narrative-based stories unravel.

Patriotism -Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.” George Washington.

Healthcare – More than one in five Americans, or 68 million people, will receive their health coverage through Medicaid, but this hasn’t translated into access to healthcare.

Healthcare – Vermont is canceling its plan to create a single-payer health system in the state as a pilot for the nation, since it proved unworkable, unaffordable, and unachievable.

Energy – New York has decided to ban fracking in the state based on unauthoritative, inconclusive, non-definitive, and absent science, appeasing the radical environmentalists.

Environment – The UN Climate talks degenerated into how much could be redistributed from the rich to the poor with no talk of validating the spurious environmental impact claims.

Civil Rights – The latest technique of institutional discrimination is based on disparate impact,” when results do not exactly align with demographics, discrimination is inferred.

Crime – Rape on college campuses in America is plummeting in frequency with the rate of rape and sexual assault for college students (6.1 per 1,000) vs. non-students (7.6 per 1,000).

CrimeProfiling of criminal suspects including sex, age, height, weight, race, and clothing as well as behavioral characteristics is effective police procedure.

Discipline -Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.” George Washington.

Defense – Continued adherence to the mythical Obama Doctrine that “a weak America is a loved America” is to consciously commit national suicide.

Defense The cyber attack on SONY was an assault by a foreign nation on the American economy and an act of war, but the administration fears responding with any overt action.

GWOT How many lone wolf” Islamists must murder people in the name of their religion before the Obama administration connects the dots to the rest of the Global War on Terror?

GWOT The Obama administration is slowly emptying the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay releasing six more “high risk” al Qaeda terrorists to Uruguay as “refugees.”

Religion The Religious Freedom in the World 2014 Report concluded that religious freedom had deteriorated in 55 of the 196 countries studied, with Christians remaining the most persecuted religious minority, mostly from Islamic extremism and authoritarian regimes.

Cuba – Obama has decided to, what can only be termed, bailout the geriatric, communist regime in Cuba now that Russia and Venezuela can no longer prop it up with oil revenues.

Libya – YES: Hillary Clinton refused to provide diplomatic security, issues stand-down orders for a rescue, and actively participated in the political cover-up; and NO: No one has been held personally accountable for this multi-faceted criminal Dereliction of Duty!
