Apparently, the bar for being President of the United States is set extremely low these days.  Bill Clinton just had to wipe the occasional stain off a dress or tie.  Obama just has to talk passionately and recite big words as they scroll across a teleprompter.  Hillary just has to not get indicted, but it's hard to believe that she considers it a personal and political victory to barely exceed that lowly hurdle.  Politicians have been tripping over that bar forever.  Marion Barry was alternately in and out of jail and political office.  If Hillary were applying for any other government position besides POTUS, she would not qualify.  It's clear that if this were anybody other than Hillary, he would be lining up a defense team now, not holding hands with Obama on a stage.  Even if she didn't do anything that would put anybody else in jail, shouldn't the fact that she deceived the public with her lies in the coverup be enough to prosecute her in the court of public opinion?  How often do we hear that the cover-up was worse than the offense?  That's what got Nixon.  With a compliant, Hillary-loving media, even her sloppy attempt to cover up the offense doesn't create a bump in the path to the Presidency.  Comey and the FBI admit to finding 100 documents marked classified on the personal server in Hillary Clinton's home, two of which were stamped top-secret, but this was merely grossly negligent and, in the case of the Clintons, not a violation of any laws.  Why do government investigators and prosecutors and the independent press automatically assume that the Clinton's intentions were honorable even after she spent the last year making up lie after lie to cover up her presumably innocent actions?  Like everything Clinton, things like ethics, truthfulness, rules, and laws apply only to everyone else.  Apparently the message is that no matter how hard you work, no matter how good and honest you are, there will always be the Clintons of the world out there that these ideals don't apply to.  We just have to hope and pray that those people don't end up with their feet up on the Resolute Desk.

(“The bar for POTUS is set low indeed” by Dan Joppich dated July 10, 2016 published by American Thinker at http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/07/the_bar_for_potus_is_set_low_indeed.html )

In elections generally, things are not always what they seem, but not so fast.  Take the apparent exculpation of Hillary Clinton by FBI Director James Comey, which Democrats proclaimed the issue being “resolved” since Hillary Clinton will not be indicted.  The failure to indict was not an exoneration and what the public witnessed: the secret meeting between the head of Justice and target’s husband, the job offer to Clinton’s would-be prosecutor, and the FBI’s dossier of her misdeeds, was in effect a second trial, and it came with a conviction.  The former Secretary of State has lied to Congress and the public, and not about private matters like sexual escapades with interns. She has lied about national security matters, and was reckless in handling secrets that affect the safety of all Americans.  Worse, the fact that she appears to be getting away with a serious crime is a dramatic confirmation of Trump’s campaign narrative: the system is corrupt and the fix is in.  The Comey episode also turned a lot of Republican heads, most notably House Speaker Paul Ryan’s, who have been openly skeptical of Trump’s candidacy, and lukewarm in endorsing his campaign.  Ryan is not attacking Trump now, but instead is calling on officials to remove Hillary’s security clearance, a strong signal to voters that she is not fit to be commander-in-chief, and a powerful reinforcement of Trump’s campaign theme.  The reason Trump will win in November is that national security is at the top of voter concerns and Trump has been a strong advocate on this front.  Beginning with his promise to build a wall, national security issues, vetting Syrian Muslim refugees, rebuilding the military, “bombing the shit” out of ISIS and naming the enemy, have been centerpieces of his campaign.  Of course, he has also had help from the terrorists who carried out the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino and Orlando, and from a feckless Obama who refuses to recognize the Islamist threat.  Since World War II, no Republican has won the popular vote in a presidential election where national security has not been a primary issue.  Trump has instinctively seized the high ground on national security.  He has put the disasters of Obama’s Middle East retreats up front, and challenged the crippling denial of the commander-in-chief and his failure to take appropriate measures to defeat our enemies at home and abroad.  Thanks to nearly eight years of a party in power that refuses to secure our borders and is more interested in disarming law-abiding Americans than confronting the terror threat in our midst, national security is now a primary issue on the minds of all Americans.  Donald Trump speaks to those concerns in a way that the damaged and compromised Hillary cannot.  Her fingerprints are all over the disastrous Obama policies in the Middle East.  National security is an issue that crosses party lines and also gender lines.  It is an issue that unifies the Republican coalition, whose current disunity is Trump’s greatest weakness. With the fallout from Hillary’s server fail as a backdrop, Trump should be able to bring his party together and go on to victory in November.

When FBI Director James Comey recommended the government bring no criminal charges against Hillary Clinton over her use of a personal email server while secretary of state, he removed the last serious obstacle to her becoming the first woman President of the United States. As genuinely disliked as she is by voters (56% disapprove),Donald Trump, who lurches from embarrassment to embarrassment like a drunk stumbling through a restaurant knocking over every table in his path to the bathroom, inspires even more contempt.  Now that her path to the White House is clear, her lack of an original, coherent, compelling vision for 21st-century America will move front and center.  She is forever “reintroducing” herself to the American people because she is an empty pantsuit except when it comes to her sense of historical destiny and righteousness.  For better and mostly worse, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump have at least laid out bold, sweeping platforms that would radically change the status quo at a time when fully two-thirds of us believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.  Clinton has simply indulged in lame me-tooism, strategic vagueness and flip-floppery, and a willingness to manage Barack Obama’s third term for him.  Clinton has never been a socially progressive candidate, still opposing marijuana legalization and only coming out for marriage equality in 2013.  She supported her husband's anti-immigrant positions back in the 1990s and ran for Senate in New York as hostile to everything approaching amnesty for illegals.  When Sanders pushed for a $15 an hour federal minimum wage, Clinton rolled her eyes and opted instead for a more-modest $12 version.  As Donald Trump powerfully attacked free-trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Clinton shushed him and then embraced exactly the same protectionist positions even though 56% of Democrat and Democrat-leaning voters believe such deals have been a good thing for the country.  ObamaCare limps along with a 49% disapproval rating, Clinton says she wants to stick with it.  She voices continued support for banking regulations that have actually increased concentration in the financial industry and has laid out plans to jack up federal spending from a above-average 22.1% of GDP to a mind-boggling 22.7% of GDP.  Her unwillingness to reduce spending, reform entitlements, and attack the national debt virtually guarantees weak economic growth for decades.  This goopy mélange of positions may be enough to win in an election where Donald Trump is her main challenger, but it shouldn't be confused with anything approaching leadership, statesmanship, or vision.  No wonder her supporters are quick to judge her not on the quality of her ideas but on the content of her resume.  America is floundering in the 21st century, the victim of indefensible foreign policy that Clinton herself helped to mis-execute; of out-of-control government spending and regulatory excess under successive Republican and Democrat Presidents that has dampened economic growth by 50% compared to post-war averages; and a hollowing out of faith in government due to endless scandals and malfeasance stemming from plutocratic contempt for transparency on the part of our leaders.  The last President who lacked the "vision thing" and got elected on the strength of his resume was George H.W. Bush, whose single term as President was nobody's idea of a success.  The 2016 election will likely be the last in which a Baby Boomer is President, because both Clinton and Trump are relics of the past, not heralds of the future.

(“Hillary Clinton Will Win, but She Doesn’t Deserve To” by Nick Gillespie published by The Daily Beast at http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/07/10/hillary-clinton-will-win-but-she-doesn-t-deserve-to.html )

Hillary Clinton, exploiting the venue of her appearance in Springfield, Illinois, where Abraham Lincoln warned against "a house divided," told America that Donald Trump is not fit to lead in times of racial tension.  This is rich, considering that she served under the most racially divisive president in American history.  Clinton said Trump is "pitting American against American" when we need "a President who can help pull us together, not split us apart."  The stinging irony is that Clinton is now the standard-bearer for a political party whose lifeblood depends on stirring racial tensions and alienating blacks from whites.  Under the guise of posing as the exclusive guardians of African-Americans, Clinton, President Obama and the entire Democrat apparatus do far more actual damage to race relations and the plight of American blacks than Republicans are accused of doing in the Democrats' imaginary world of self-serving, race-baiting propaganda.  Democrat Party leaders know that neither Republicans nor their policy agenda is anti-black.  They know that Republicans believe that conservative policies, including extricating blacks from the enslaving cycle of government dependency and inferior inner-city schools and doing everything within their power to prevent further government-imposed damage to the nuclear family, will help lift black families out of poverty.  But Democrats say otherwise because their lies work.  Conservative policies have been effective at lifting up black families, decelerating the breakdown of the family and restoring the human dignity of those quagmired in the endless welfare trap.  Indeed, empirical evidence demonstrated that Republican-based welfare reform legislation, reluctantly signed by President Bill Clinton the third time it was placed on his desk, inarguably benefited blacks, but Obama deliberately unraveled the program anyway.  Obama's policies have been disastrous for blacks, whose unemployment levels are dangerously high.  Somehow Republicans are blamed when Obama’s policies fail, even though he's advanced his agenda in ways he guaranteed would help, not hurt, blacks.  It's not just Obama's policies that harm blacks but also his intentionally divisive rhetoric.  Obama takes it a step further because he appears to really believe the vile words he spews on race.   He showed that again in his regrettable remarks at the memorial service for the Dallas police officers murdered by a lone black gunman with racist malice aforethought.  It's sad that people vote for candidates on the basis of race.  It is just as unrealistic to believe that Obama, because of his race, would usher in a period of racial harmony.  Many Americans did cast their vote for Obama at least partially based on his race, twice, expected more from Obama than his scorched-earth pattern of racial divisiveness.

(“Obama, Clinton and Race Exploitation” by David Limbaugh dated July 15, 2016 published by Town Hall at http://townhall.com/columnists/davidlimbaugh/2016/07/15/obama-clinton-and-race-exploitation-n2192893 )

America always has been an exceptional nation.  People in other countries recognize that America is unique, which is why so many of those fleeing foreign oppression come to the “land of the free.”  What made the U.S. great were its principles, not its officials.  America was different from most other nations, committed to limited government and individual liberty, alien concepts in most countries.  The U.S. attempted to restrain government abuse through the separation of powers, another unusual idea, especially at a time of absolute monarchs.  Federalism protects different levels of community.  Every dispute does not need to be decided at the national level.  Justice was to be equal for all.  Being rich, important, influential, or a celebrity wasn’t supposed to matter before the bar of justice.  In recent years, America has begun increasingly to look like other nations.  Not because the American people are any less exceptional. But because their leaders don’t believe that America is.  In fact, the Obama presidency could be defined by its concerted campaign to knock the U.S. off its pedestal.  Barack Obama and those around him do not believe in what traditionally was called “American exceptionalism.”  His administration has attacked every principle that set America apart.  For President Obama, government is unlimited, with individual liberty only at Washington’s sufferance.  The federal government now decides which health insurance policies we must buy and from whom.  New rules prevent employees from choosing greater flexibility and freedom at work.  High taxes and regulations on Americans living abroad are causing an increasing number of them to simply give up their citizenship.  Separation of powers requires that law enforcement remain independent of executive control, and both Congress and the judiciary resist excessive executive authority, especially actions that are unlawful or unconstitutional. For this administration, however, ignoring the law is standard operating procedure.  Federalism means little when the national authorities seek to impose their will on every American, no matter how personal the issue.  Then there is equal justice.  Most Americans have had an abiding faith that they will be treated based on what they deserve, not on what they can afford.  Yet Washington usually takes care of its own.  The Left gets aroused when, say, a businessman takes advantage of the system, but turns a blind eye when it comes to one of their own, like presidential wannabe Hillary Clinton.  What we know now is that the law is unequal.  This administration routinely jails Americans who mishandle classified material.  Even national security figures Sandy Berger and David Petraeus were prosecuted, though they got off with probation.  The bigger you are, contrary to the adage, the less likely you are to fall.  A potential President, like Hillary Clinton, merely gets a verbal slap on the wrist; no prosecution; let alone jail time.  Imagine what her presidency would be like. After nearly eight years of the current occupant we need to send in political fumigators to prevent American liberties from being overrun by officious bureaucrats. Give Hillary Clinton eight years in office and we’re not likely to recognize the American political system.  Our nation is and remains exceptional, but the American people must act decisively to keep it that way because we are running out of time.

(“The American Evolution” by Ken Blackwell dated July 9, 2016 published by Town Hall at http://townhall.com/columnists/kenblackwell/2016/07/09/the-american-evolution-n2190393 )

The ambush that specifically targeted white police officers in Dallas is the most visibly brazen and statistically significant attack against police officers this century.  As horrific as this attack was, it presages something even more sinister that is about to explode within our country.  To understand what we are witnessing, it must be first made clear that the murderous attacks on the police have little to do with the questionable deaths of black men by police.  Their deaths are being conveniently exploited by individuals and groups whose plans were set in motion decades ago under different pretexts.  We must remember that we’ve seen this type of “orchestrated chaos” before, specifically in the late 1960s during the radicalization of students and young people across college campuses.  Protests, sit-ins, and armed takeovers of campus offices by the radical left were increasing and blamed, in part, on the Vietnam War.  Other reasons existed as well, including many of the same anti-Capitalist, anti-American sentiments we are seeing today.  Some of the very same protesters involved in the street-level take-overs are, or have been in power under Obama.  Other members of Obama’s inner circle played important roles to varying degrees, including advisors, during his fundamental changing of the United States, including Bill Ayers and Ayers’ wife, Bernardine Dohrn, a self-described “revolutionary communist.” The pretexts differ, but the anarchy playbooks have been modified only to make the best use of social media, which provides more effective avenues of communication and organization.  We are seeing exactly what happens when we allow a man with known ties to members of the Marxist/Leninist/Maoist Left to take charge of a nation.  Those who have questioned his meteoric rise to power from a community organizer to the Oval Office without verifications of his genuine, authenticated bona fides, only to be told to stand down should feel vindicated, if it helps.  Obama, through his appointments, associates and his own words has made his biases clear, and his objectives clearer.  Just as the “New Left” of the late 60s and 70s promised, their mission is to build a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary movement, to replace the “racist, capitalist and imperialist American system.  Our first “clue” should have been the intimidating presence of armed Black Panthers at voting areas in Philadelphia on election day in 2008, and their lack of prosecution.  Then, was the infamous “Beer Summit” of 2009 that stemmed from the Henry Louis Gates arrest controversy, following a breaking-and-entering call to the Gates residence by a neighbor.  The facts of this case as they relate to race don’t matter, because the stage for future race-related events was set.  The new system being forced upon America is predicated on Marxism, Socialism and ultimately Communism.  The playbook of the Marxist revolutionaries of the 1960s had to be updated to reflect the current social climate.  The plays are generally the same, and require obedient participants (i.e. “useful idiots”) to be programmed to believe that just by showing up in sufficient numbers, change would follow.  Cluelessness abounds among the drug-addled, angry, spoiled youth who possess a far greater sense of entitlement than plain sense.  Just as there was this growing overlap of revolutionary groups in the 1960s and 1970s, there is an even greater overlap of groups today.  The landscape has changed as we see the unmolested mix of illegals being brought into America, not for their votes or even labor, but for an agenda far bigger.  It must be fully understood that the collateral workings of Muslim groups and Mexican gangs act as force multipliers for anarchy and chaos.  The most blatant example of this Marxist agenda of takeover from within is the “social justice group” Black Lives Matter.  Most Americans believe that the activist group known as “Black Lives Matter” spontaneously originated in 2013 in response to perceived injustices against minorities, with the proverbial ‘last straw’ being the acquittal of George Zimmerman, the man who killed black Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.  Black Lives Matter is merely the latest iteration of a decades-old deception that is based in the aforementioned Marxism-Leninism-Maoism philosophy, controlled by Communist groups whose foot soldiers have infiltrated the United States over generations.  It serves as one of the fronts for highly organized and well-funded groups intent on subverting our Constitutional Republic under the pretext of advancing social justice and equality.  Its true objectives and intent are not what is being presented to the public, or even to the majority of those involved in the ‘peaceful protests.’ Most of the front line protesters are being duped and are ‘useful idiots’ of those controlling the larger agenda.  They have fallen prey to a slick marketing campaign by social media.  Black Lives Matter is a hashtag of hypocrisy.  It has little to do with equal rights or civil justice, but chaos, anarchy and the destruction of America. It is critical to note that this group has direct ties to the Obama White House.  It is important to note media complicity to hide the real agenda of this group.  It is also important to note that many of the groups associated with BLM and its co-founders are merely front groups for the Marxist-Leninist Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO).  Those include but are not limited to: NDWA, SOUL, RTTC, and POWER: different groups working toward the same objectives; many of the same people, just different positions.  Operational consistencies contained within the enemy playbook are becoming evident.  Chaos is slowly gripping areas of our nation and we’ve reached a boiling point that cannot be understood by superficial assessments, so expect chaos to continue and worsen under the guise of equality.

(“Obama’s Agenda of Anarchy” by Doug Hagmann dated July 11, 2016 published by Canada Free Press at http://canadafreepress.com/article/obamas-agenda-of-anarchy )

The reality-based fossil fuel version states: Fuel me for 150 years, fuel me forever, or at least until creative, entrepreneurial spirits can devise reliable, affordable alternatives. The 2016 Democratic Party would change this adage to read: Fuel me for 150 years, fuel me never again.  Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton want to regulate drilling and fracking into oblivion, or ban them outright. Clinton also says she is “going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”  The draft Democrat Party platform supports a “phase down” of fossil fuel production on public lands, turning those lands into “engines of the clean energy economy,” getting 50% of US electricity from “clean sources” by 2027, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80% below 2005 levels by 2050.  This Big Green, Bigger Government, Democratic ideology represents destructive madness.

·    Oil, natural gas and coal replaced human and animal muscle, wood, waterwheels and whale oil.  They provided the energy that lifted billions from abject poverty, disease, malnutrition and early death, to the amazing living standards and longevity we enjoy today. They still provide over 80% of America’s and the world’s energy, and the vast majority of nations are burning them in ever-increasing amounts to power their own health and economic transformations.

·    Fears that we will run out of oil and gas are unfounded.  It’s the same story with iron, copper, aluminum, titanium and other vital raw materials. The more we use, the more we have, thanks to constantly improving exploration, production and other technologies, driven by rising demand and prices, conceived and built by mankind’s increasingly creative genius, our Ultimate Resource.

·    In fact, we are still blessed with centuries of fossil fuels.  As prices rise and technologies improve, “technically recoverable” figures soar to 206 years for oil, 83 years for gas and 597 years for coal. “In-place total resource” estimates send these calculations to an astronomical 536, 510 and 12,849 years respectively!

·    According to the IER, this amazing abundance could translate into 6 million new jobs and $1 trillion a year in energy exports.  America’s non-environmentally sensitive western public lands could hold $50 trillion in energy resources—which new pipelines, refineries and liquefied natural gas terminals could bring to the world, unleashing incredible job and economic growth.

·    In the absence of government diktats, we will gradually and voluntarily make a transition to new energy sources that we cannot even imagine today, long before we run out of these fossil fuel bounties.  We would do it without destroying jobs and economies, just as we did over these past 150 years.  Any coerced transition will destroy millions of jobs and send families, communities, states and nations into social and economic chaos, for no environmental or climate benefit.

·    Widespread wind and solar facilities would have monumental impacts. We would still need backup coal or gas generators, unless we are willing to have to only minimal, expensive, constantly interrupted electricity, when it is available, rather than sufficient, affordable, dependable power, when we need it for modern lives, livelihoods and living standards.  Ruling elites may be happy to impose that on “commoners,” but they will never tolerate it for themselves.

·    Every one of these “clean,” “green,” “sustainable,” “renewable” energy edicts and fantasies is based on assertions that fossil fuels emit greenhouse gases that are causing “dangerous manmade climate change.”  However, there is no convincing evidence that carbon dioxide and other GHG emissions have replaced the powerful, interconnected natural forces that have always driven climate change. Climate alarmists cannot show that recent or ongoing climate and weather fluctuations, cycles and events are significantly different from those of the last 50, 150 or 1,500 years.  Climate alarmists cannot separate human influences from natural causes for any recent changes.

·    If we truly want to Make America great again, Help working class Americans, and Care about the poor and we will not “Keep it in the ground.”  We will not squander our bounteous fossil fuel inheritance on the pagan altar of climate chaos.  We will not sacrifice our children’s future for illusory ecological benefits.

The draft Democrat Party platform says we must safeguard the assumed needs of future generations, even if it means ignoring or compromising the real needs of current generations, including the needs, aspirations and welfare of America’s and the world’s poorest people.  It says we must protect poor and working classes from alleged, exaggerated and imagined climate disasters decades from now, by imposing very real energy policy disasters that will adversely affect their jobs, living standards, health, wellbeing and life spans today.  That’s why the Obama EPA alone has issued more than 3,900 new tiny-print rules and regulations, totaling nearly 76,000 pages in the Federal Register, and costing us tens of billions of dollars a year.  Big Green Democrats think they can fool Americans and continue asserting their moral superiority, condescension and contempt for anyone who does not accept their ideologies and agendas.  Democrats believe it’s good policy to send America deeper into energy and economic decline, but voters may disagree.
