Americans are faced with a difficult and ugly choice in the coming election.  Never in American history have there been two more unpopular candidates for President.  For a year Donald Trump offended just about everyone, one way or another, but somehow managed to beat sixteen other conventionally more qualified candidates to become the Republican nominee.  Trump’s rage against the tyranny of the DC establishment, left and right, that resonated with many millions of people who are fed up with the blight upon free speech that is political correctness.   They are fed up with Obama's eight years of flooding the nation with illegal immigrants and refugees with questionable loyalties.  They are fed up with the billions of taxpayer dollars that go to subsidize those people.  They are fed up with Obama's "leadership from behind" that put the country in grave danger, from Iran, from ISIS, from Russia, China, from home-grown terrorists, from a stagnant, over-regulated economy.  Like Obama, Hillary is a woman who wants power to reorder American culture according to the theories of Cloward, Piven and Saul Alinsky that she has long embraced.  Like Obama, she has no love or respect for the Constitution, and if elected she will finalize its shredding.  Hillary is, and has always been a pathological liar, a woman who got where she is by grasping for dear life onto her husband's coattails.  She has no accomplishments in the political realm, no record of achievements or successes, her years as a senator yielded nothing, and her years as Secretary of State were disastrous at every turn.  She is an arrogant, invidious woman who sees herself as above the law and superior to all of us outside of her rarefied world of fabulous ill-gotten wealth and privilege.  She oversaw the harassment of the women her husband abused.  It was she and her sycophants who used her position at State to enrich themselves; they literally sold access to American favor for personal gain.   The crimes of the Clinton Foundation are barely known, but they began by the Clintons stiffing Haiti after that devastating earthquake and using the tragedy to financially benefit themselves and their friends.  Trump called Hillary a bigot and the media are in a dither.  She is a bigot and anti-Semitic as well.  African Americans, Latinos, LGBT's are just voting blocks to be pandered to and pander she does.  Hillary released an ad egregiously pathetic and desperate linking Trump to the KKK!   Her schemes to operate under the radar of the government for which she worked were positively Machiavellian.  The lengths to which she went to conceal her crimes are evidence of her malfeasant intent.  With Clinton she doubles-down on all Obama policies: increased taxation, increased regulation of everything, especially businesses, the complete destruction of health care, continuing economic stagnation, increased racial discord, more class stratification, more crime, less law enforcement, much more illegal immigration and importation of refugees and an ideological Supreme Court that will barely even glance at the Constitution.  With Trump there is a chance of a Constitutional SCOTUS, a possibility of reduced illegal immigration, the possibility of reduced taxation, the possibility of a stimulated economy and jobs for some of the 95 million people now out of work.  A vote for Trump may crack the leftist oppression that is political correctness and revive reverence for the First Amendment.  A vote for Trump may save the Second Amendment.  A vote for Trump may save our Vets from killing themselves in despair over their lack of medical care.  A vote for Trump may find a way to replace the utter failure ObamaCare with something affordable, accessible and workable.  A vote for Trump may turn around the sad state of our decimated cites like Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, etc., those cities that have been run into the ground by democrat pols for decades.  If Hillary is elected, we can be certain of the path she will choose, one that will continue to inch toward totalitarianism.  If Trump is elected there is at least the possibility of a national turnaround.  We will be able to hope for a revived Constitutional Republic that is of, by and for the People.   Sadly, there is only one choice; the one with possibilities (Trump) rather than dead certainties (Clinton).

The world has seen a number of women as top political leaders.  Theresa May is the second female prime minister in Great Britain, after Maggie Thatcher.  Angela Merkel is the long-serving chancellor of Germany.  Years ago, there was Indira Gandhi of India.  Hillary Clinton is on the cusp of being elected President, the biggest political prize in the world, but Clinton is a poor choice to be a path-breaker.  From the emergence of the Clintons in Arkansas politics to now, everything has been about them in the worst way.  It is easy to forget that Bill Clinton's path to the White House a quarter-century ago was hindered by corrupt debris left by his and Hillary's time in Arkansas.  Even the New York Times could not ignore the obvious bribe of the "cattle trades" orchestrated by a broker with interests in the state.  Whitewater development showcased another aspect of the Clinton's venality.  The disappearance of Hillary Clinton's billing records at the infamous Rose law firm foreshadowed the convenient loss of emails from her time at the State Department.  No American could be unaware of the couple's moral failings while voting to place them in the White House.  Hillary's hand was ever evident during Bill’s Presidency including handing the White House travel office over to friends.  The Monica Lewinsky scandal came to dominate everything, diverting attention from more serious, and substantive, abuses.  Now Hillary's scandals are fully hers.  Her reliance on personal email, while Secretary of State, was an obvious attempt to sanitize the public record before another Presidential run.  Selective email releases with thousands of emails mysteriously missing only serve to delay.  There is little doubt that Clinton violated security laws despite the Obama administration's attempt to limit the damage.  We've seen enough to know that Clinton was more the crass wheeler-dealer than the glass ceiling breaker.  More than half of the people outside government with whom Clinton talked officially had given money individually or through a firm or other organization to the Clinton Foundation.  Of 154 people, 85 were donors.  Worse, at least 16 foreign governments whose representatives met with Clinton donated as much as $170 million to the foundation.  The frequency of the overlaps shows the intermingling of access and donations, and fuels perceptions that giving the foundation money was a price of admission for face time with Clinton.  Some of the private people meeting Clinton had run-of-the-mill special pleading, such as help with a visa.  Others hoped for U.S. assistance, such as support from Washington against their own government, which was seeking their resignation from a financial institution.  Smart and determined, the Clintons were capable of genuine "public service," but instead they turned their time in public life into just another opportunity for personal enrichment.  This is how Hillary Clinton operated as Secretary of State, so it will be if she ends up as President.  She talks about breaking the glass ceiling, but the rest of us should focus on her crass dealing.

(“Hillary Clinton: From Glass Ceiling to Crass Dealing” by Ken Blackwell dated August 28, 2016 published by American Thinker at http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/08/hillary_clinton_from_glass_ceiling_to_crass_dealing.html )

The surest way for a person with private interests to get a meeting with Secretary of State Clinton, or a phone call returned by her, it seems, was to dump a bundle of cash into the Clinton Foundation.  Of 154 outsiders whom Clinton phoned or met with in her first two years at State, 85 had made contributions to the Clinton Foundation, and their contributions, taken together, totaled $156 million.  Conclusion: Access to Secretary of State Clinton could be bought, but it was not cheap.  Forty of the 85 donors gave $100,000 or more.  Twenty of those whom Clinton met with or phoned dumped in $1 million or more.  To get to the seventh floor of the Clinton State Department for a hearing for one's plea, the cover charge was high.  Bill has promised that, if Hillary is elected, he will end his days at the foundation and stop taking checks from foreign regimes and entities, and corporate donors.  Contributions from wealthy Americans will still be gratefully accepted.  Bill is all but conceding that there is a serious conflict of interest between his foundation raking in millions that enhance the family's prestige and sustain its travel and lifestyle, while providing its big donors with privileged access to the Secretary of State.  Yet if Hillary Clinton becomes President, the scheme is unsustainable.  Even Clinton seems to be conceding the game is up. "I know there's a lot of smoke, and there's no fire," she said in self-defense.  She is certainly right about the smoke.  Missing emails are being unearthed at State, through Freedom of Information Act requests that are filling out the picture Clinton thought had been blotted out when her 33,000 "private" emails were erased by her lawyers.  Julian Assange, Russia, or the rogue websites doing all this hacking, are believed to have many more explosive emails they are preparing to drop before Election Day.  Then there are the contacts between Huma Abedin, her closest aide at State, and Doug Band at the Clinton Foundation, the go-betweens for the donor-Clinton meetings, which has opened a new avenue for investigators.  The number of persons of interest involved in this suppurating scandal, which has gone from an illicit server, to a panoply of Clinton lies to the public that disgusted the FBI director, to erased emails, to "pay for play," and now deep into the Clinton Foundation continues to grow.  Hillary Clinton says there is no fire, but something is causing all that smoke.

No wonder Hillary doesn't want to talk about the economy. We got revised GDP numbers from the Commerce Department and the economy actually did slightly WORSE than originally estimated.  Growth was 1.1% in the second quarter of this year and less than 1% for the first six months of 2016.  The business sector of the economy has sunk recession territory. Profits are shrinking (down 2.4% last quarter).  The consumer is keeping the economy out of negative territory, but that's only because we are spending more than we are earning.  For years the polls have shown that Americans are hyper-concerned about the economy and job security.  That was when the economy was growing at a meek 2%.  Now at 1%, we aren't just treading water, more families are being plunged underwater.  The Democrats who keep saying how well the economy is doing seem to be living in an alternative universe.  That's probably because so many of the leftwing pundits and economists live and work in Washington DC, which really is doing just fine.  DC is booming thanks to the tribute taxpayers from real America send each month to the capital.  Hillary says what the economy really needs now is a tax increase.  A new study by the National Center for Policy Analysis says that Hillary's economic plan will eventually shave 1% off GDP.  That would technically sink the economy down to zero growth.  The deficit is now climbing again to an estimated $600 billion this year.  The red ink is headed back to $1 trillion on current course.  Some states are facing 20% or more rise in ObamaCare premiums this year.  Trump must hammer Hillary and Obama on these abysmal economic developments.  The appeal of Hillary's "four more years" agenda is in mortal peril given the flimsiness of the economy.  We are moving in the wrong direction.  Clinton’s jobs plan is a plan to destroy hundreds of thousands of private sector jobs just to pad government payrolls while doing almost nothing to improve tax fairness.  The one percent growth economy is the new normal thanks to liberal governance, and with Hillary's tax and spend agenda, a 2017 recession could be on the way.

(“The new GDP numbers are terrible. No wonder Hillary won’t talk about the economy” by Steve Moore dated August 26, 2016 published by Fox News at http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/08/26/new-gdp-numbers-are-terrible-no-wonder-hillary-won-t-talk-about-economy.html )

While Hillary Clinton hunkers down under a nonstop barrage of email releases, avoiding press conferences while sounding like Richard Nixon ("I am not a crook!"), Donald Trump won the daily double, appearing Presidential in his visit with President Nieto in Mexico City and then coming back to deliver a substantive speech on immigration in Phoenix.  He's out-wonking the wonks with his ten-point plan on immigration, no matter how you fall out on them.  Trump emphasized the rule of law and enforcing our existing immigration laws:

·    THE WALL: He wants to build the promised wall with the best technology and protection against underground tunnels. No surprise here.  And he still, despite his morning visit south of the border, wants Mexico to pay for it.

·    END CATCH-AND-RELEASE:  The Obama endorsed catch-and-release always seemed something out of Orwell.  Bravo to Trump for ending it.

·    ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CRIMINAL ALIENS: Did you know there were two million of them  inside this country?  Trump wants to pass Kate's Law, named for Kate Steinle, the young San Franciscan who was murdered by one of these characters, which imposes severe punishment on illegal alien recidivists.

·    SANCTUARY CITIES ARE OUT:  Their funds will be blocked if they don't comply.

·    UNCONSTITUTIONAL EXECUTIVE ORDERS CANCELED:  Enforce all existing immigration laws and add to ICE personnel, etc. to make sure they can be enforced.

·    SUSPEND THE ISSUING OF VISAS FROM PLACES WHERE ADEQUATE SCREENING CANNOT OCCUR:  The Islamic Middle East is the first priority.  This is the "extreme vetting" proposal made by Trump in his recent foreign policy speech.

·    OTHER COUNTRIES MUST TAKE THEIR PEOPLE BACK WHEN WE ORDER THEM DEPORTED: Donald, the enforcer, will be able to make this work.

·    BIOMETRIC ENTRY-EXIT VISA TRACKING:  Half our illegal aliens come in by overstaying their visas, including many of the most dangerous jihadi-types. This is long overdue.

·    TURN OFF THE JOBS AND BENEFITS MAGNET: This is self-explanatory.

There's nothing in Trump's ten proposals with which I disagree.  Notably missing is what to do with the eleven million existing illegal aliens, other than the criminal element that would be immediately sent out.  No mass deportations in are planned.  Trump said we should deal with that population after everyone felt the border was genuinely secure.  Seal the border tight.  Get rid of the unsavory.  Then see what our country looks like.   Trump's approach is just fine, so cross your fingers (and mark your ballots) so he has a chance to put it into action.
