Dr. Jason D. Hill of DePaul University wrote an open letter to journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates. Coates whose 2015 book, titled “Between the World and Me” is often required reading to depict the black American experience to students.  Hill had enough of hearing invectives spewed against America, especially in the classroom, so he calls such required reading “child abuse” or “child neglect.”  Hill is disturbed by the growing anti-American orthodoxy that he hears on American campuses, and believes Americans need to be fortified with a rational pride that recognizes what is great about America.  He believes that if more Americans realized the nation’s greatness, the country would be inoculated against future external threats he feels are building, be they from sharia law, Russia, a nuclear Iran or North Korea.  Hill cites the fact that America is not a tribal nation, but is welcoming to all.  The aspirational nature of the nation, where anyone can start afresh if they have grit, tenacity, resilience and will reject an entitlement attitude, excites him.  The fact that the U.S. was founded on moral principles and that the country is always working to solve real problems that crop up also make him proud.  It is the American people, fundamentally cheerful, optimistic, compassionate, and generous, make this country such a beautiful place.  White liberals incur his wrath, and his eloquent rejection of being a victim confounds them.  Hill said that liberals depend on blacks continuing to suffer.  He also discussed who he sees in the “alt-left,” including Senator Bernie Sanders, Cornell West, Black Lives Matter, Coates and others.  This radicalism is taking ascendancy among the professoriate in the classrooms, he said, and any position that does not align with theirs constitutes hate speech.  Growing anti-Americanism is the biggest domestic threat to the nation, according to Hill.  It is infecting American youth at a stunning speed.  He fears that young people are excessively open to non-American interests, and believes there are too many Americans would rather root for the America’s adversaries if ever a choice had to be made.

There was a time when doing something trashy like flipping off a presidential motorcade would be frowned upon, not because everyone loves the President, but because no one with class would do anything like that.  Those days are gone and they’ve been replaced by non-stop trolling, outright hatred of people with differing opinions and grotesque tribalism.  Gridlock has become the rule of the day in Congress for a number of reasons, but one of the biggest is that the Right and Left simply don’t agree on much anymore.  Think about the basic questions of American life:

·    Constitution - Conservatives believe in it; Liberals believe in a “living Constitution” which is fundamentally no different than having no Constitution at all.

·    Religion - Conservatives tend to believe in Judeo-Christian values, and even atheists tend to at least be friendly to those values; Liberals mock Judeo-Christian values.

·    Patriotism - Conservatives tend to love their country; Liberals love this country like a wife-beater loves his spouse.

·    Economy - Conservatives tend to be capitalists; Liberals tend to be socialists.

·    Race - Conservatives believe people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin; Liberals believe your race defines you.

·    Equality - Conservatives believe in equality of opportunity; Liberals believe in equality of results.

·    Speech - Conservatives believe in freedom of speech; Liberals are fine with silencing people that disagree with them.

·    Role of Government - Conservatives believe in small government; Liberals believe in a frighteningly powerful central government dictating your every move.

That last one is perhaps the most significant because if liberals could live the way they want in California, New York and Connecticut while conservatives could live as they please in Texas, South Carolina and Utah, we could shrug off our differences.  As the government in Washington becomes ever more powerful, that is no longer allowed.  The question is if it is time for patriots who love this country to attempt to overthrow the government to help bring our nation back to Constitutional governance?  The short version of what I told him was “no.”  It is not time to split the country apart and have a revolution.  That’s a very extreme step and it should only be taken in the direst of circumstances.  We have broken bonds as a nation before:  first, with the British, then during the Civil War.  Regrettably, we may be headed toward another break down the road.  That’s not something anyone should welcome.  When large percentages of the population are forced to live under grating rules they disagree with in the strongest of terms, paid for with increasingly large amounts of tax money they didn’t want to give up and implemented by people they don’t like, respect or feel bound to as a people, no wise person should assume that will continue indefinitely.

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum.  They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.”  The Right has been were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.  The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ‘60s.   To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale.  It has been a war they’ve fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one till today.  The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war.  While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.  With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end, because Donald Trump is America’s first wartime president in the Culture War.  During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors.  It’s wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he’s defeating the Left using their own tactics.  That book is Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – a book so essential to the Liberals’ war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton’s senior thesis.   It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.  Trump’s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do.  First, instead of going after “the fake media” and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, Trump isolated CNN.  Trump made it personal, which is just as Alinsky suggests, employing ridicule which Alinsky described as “the most powerful weapon of all.”  Everyone gets that it’s not just CNN, because CNN is just a piker.  Most importantly, Trump’s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position.  With Trump’s ability to go around them, they cannot simply stand pat, so they need to respond.  This leaves them with only two choices.  They can either “go high” and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can “double-down on their usual tactics” and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery.  The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news that would be the end of the Democrat Party they serve.  It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news that keeps the Left alive.  This leaves them no other option but to ratchet up the fake news, conjuring up the next “nothing burger” and devoting 24 hours a day to hysterical rants about how it’s “worse than Nixon.”  This, obviously, is what CNN has chosen to do.  The problem is that, as they become more and more hysterical, they become more and more obvious.  Each new effort at even faker news than before and faker “outrage” only makes that much more clear to any objective observer that Trump is and always has been right about the fake news media.  By causing their hysteria, Trump has forced them into numerous, highly embarrassing and discrediting mistakes.  Thus, in their desperation, they have lowered their standards even further and run with articles so clearly fake that, even with the liberal libel laws protecting the media, they’ve had to wholly retract and erase their stories repeatedly.  Their flailing at Trump has even seen them cross the line into criminality, with CNN using their vast corporate fortune to hunt down a private citizen for having made fun of them in an Internet meme.  CNN is playing by “Chicago Rules” sending a message to any and all: dissent will not be tolerated.  This heavy-handed and hysterical response to a joke on the Internet has backfired on CNN, giving rise to only more righteous ridicule.  So, to my friends on the Left, and the #NeverTrumpers as well, do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be “collegial” and “dignified” and “proper”?  These aren’t those times, because the Left has been war, fighting without opposition for the past 50 years.  Say anything you want about this president,  but I don’t care and we must spare this man, because he fights for us!

The crusade against Judge Roy Moore by The Washington Post and the rest of the establishment exhibits both their hatred and their hypocrisy.   That hatred, aimed at anyone who challenges business-as-usual in the Washington swamp, produces a willingness to destroy patriotic Americans who will not join Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and others in burying the Trump agenda.  The hypocrisy is obvious to anyone who remembers how the establishment has reacted to similar or more serious allegations against one of its own.  President Bill Clinton was involved in a sexual relationship with a White House intern and was accused of having sexually assaulted a volunteer worker in the White House as well as having sexually harassed an employee while serving as Governor of Arkansas.  The establishment responded by insisting that Clinton was still entirely fit to be president, and even some Republicans joined the Democrats in voting against impeachment and removal.  We must not forget Democratic Congressmen Gerry Studds, who had a sexual relationship with one of the House pages.  The establishment firmly rejected the idea that he should be expelled from the House, and supported his reelection to another term.  Anyone who suggested he had proven himself to be unfit to serve was denounced as homophobic and unenlightened.  Clinton and Studds were proven guilty of sexual misconduct, while Roy Moore has merely been accused, without corroborating evidence.  Clinton and Studds were guilty of misconduct that was much more recent than the nearly four decades that have passed since the time of the unproven Moore incidents.  Clinton and Studds used the power of their offices to take advantage of those who worked for them.  Moore has not even been accused of doing any such thing.  Moore’s enemies have not been able to come up with even unproven allegations regarding the second half of his long life.  In that sense, they themselves are his character witnesses.  They must admit that the Roy Moore of today is a man with a record of integrity and principle.  That is Moore’s real crime, because he will not fit into the Washington swamp.  As Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, he defied the establishment.  As a US Senator, he can be expected to rock the boat, and to speak up about the backroom deals.  If Judge Roy Moore is defeated, or forced to withdraw, the establishment wins and America loses.

Hillary Clinton is not complex, but she has many personal problems: her tone-deaf woodenness, her arrogance, her greed, and her worst problem has been her Democrat Party Privilege.  Her biggest problem is that she’s been coddled because of her party affiliation, coddled by a media that refused to report her ugly side; and coddled by a base that has been fooled repeatedly.  She’s convinced them she’s highly moral, highly intelligent, highly principled, and somehow represents all women, minorities, and the average American.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  She’s nothing but a propped-up caricature, propped by that Democrat privilege.  Because of that privilege, the average left-leaning voter knows little or nothing about what a reprobate she is.  The Democrat Party and the media will have no choice in the next year or so to come to that realization.  A big issue is her part in enabling Bill with his sexual predations.  She not only looked the other way as he hit on anything with a skirt, she led the charge against all the women whom he used and abused.  She led the bimbo eruptions effort, destroying the women as being sluts or nuts while her husband ran rampant.  She led the media to defend the indefensible.   Try as they might to defend the Clintons now, in the new race to virtue signal, the media is finally admitting their mistake.  Her ill temper and horrifying personality behind the mask of being nice has been chronicled by one of her major Secret Service defenders and others.  She was censured long ago for being dishonest and mean spirited by her own chairman during the Watergate hearings long ago.  Her money lust and greed were there to see in her cattle futures gains.  Whitewater was a manifestation of this character flaw, gaining personally because of political connections.  Fast forward and you have the attempted heist of White House belongings.  She dangled the bait of their political influence to gain money from the second they left the White House.  With the silence of the media, the Clintons amassed a fortune through speeches, books, and donations.  The threat of their power and the cloak of their privilege kept them riding high.  The final coup de gras was their Clinton Foundation.  That they took donations for Haiti that never got to the recipients was criminal.  Clinton Democrat Privilege led to more and more influence peddling.  The hundreds of millions of dollars donated to their foundation and campaigns from illicit people simply continued.  Everyone turned a blind eye to the obvious quid pro quos, corruption, and aggrandizement of power.  Uranium One, with the direct huge speaking fee to Bill, and the well over one hundred million dollars sent to the Foundation by those who benefited from this transaction was despicable.  The irony of all this money coming from rewarding the dratted Russians, hiding behind “the Russian reset,” can’t help but be one of the best cons ever.   All ignored by the media and the Democrat Party.  As Sean Hannity has poignantly asked, who anywhere would think it was a good idea to sell control of 20% of our Uranium to a foreign adversary, and of all people, to the Russians.  Greed and corruption is the Mother of All Scandals.  I’m betting it takes them down.  The hint to follow is that Mueller’s indictment of Manafort was going after the Podestas, and not Trump.  There’s so much more to say about her corruption.  The Democrat Party’s willingness to spy on others began with her successfully pilfering (illegally) secret FBI files long ago (“a bureaucratic snafu”).  Paying for the Russian Dossier and her rigging the Democrat Party primaries are just some examples.  Moving from her greed to her ineptness is easy, because she has never accomplished anything good.  She was an empty suit, but once again, her ineptness hidden because of her Democrat Privilege.   She was not very good at helping Bill beat the sexual predator rap with Monica.  Her carpet bagging win of her Senate seat, in itself was ust a bit tainted.  It was the fact that she did nothing of consequence with that seat, had no signature legislation, and simply used her seat as a celebrity stepping stone to the power she really wanted: the first woman President.  Unfortunately for her, in the first run for the prize, she lost to someone who out-demagogued her, and out-flanked her in leftist identity politics.  Her experience as Secretary of State was totally without success.  Carly Fiorina boiled it down as follows: “Like Hillary Clinton, I too have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles around the globe.  But unlike Hillary Clinton, I know that flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.”  Hillary successfully helped destroy Iraq by watching as Obama pulled the troops early, and set the Arab world on fire with her horrific policies.  She almost destroyed Egypt by installing and giving billions to head that country with a Muslim Brotherhood leader.  They watched ISIS metastasize, sometimes helping.  Their failure at pulling out the Benghazi ambassador months earlier, as all other major countries did, was lethal.  Their non-response to Ambassador Stephens’s pleas for better security, was unprecedentedly stupid, despicable, and deadly.  Instead of owning up to it, she spread the lie that a video was at fault, lying to the nation and the victim families’ faces.  Her entire reign was a failure.  Her campaign failure was not campaigning in the industrial Midwest.  Add that to her “deplorablesgaffe, and her disgusting inability to speak to her supporters the night of her election, and the mask should have come off for her true believer followers.  Her arrogance pushing the idea that everyone else was at fault for her loss is unprecedented in American politics.  I think the Clintons are about to be thrown under the bus, and end up being the face of scandal for years to come.  The Democrat Party will feign ignorance.  The only thing in doubt is just how far the Clintons will fall, and how far the left will go to defend their scandals as they are all engulfed.  Her Democrat privilege is ending, and she is still going around trying to blame everyone else for her shortcomings.  Along with their media enablers, the Clintons have no idea how bad they look.   When their privilege evaporates, and it will, they will be left without the drugs that have fueled them: power, money, and influence.  The first hint of their undoing is the Podesta Group folding.  The second is Donna Bazile.  The third:  The media is making up sob stories of how they shouldn’t have excused Bill’s sexual predations.  They are toast, and the end is near.  They are going down.  They are going to lose in every way.  Stripped of her privilege, she’s nothing but a corrupt, inept, and clueless felon, and her fall will be hard, long, and wide-ranging.

(“Hillary: Corrupt, Clueless, Coddled” by David Prentice dated November 21, 2017 published by American Thinker at http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/11/hillary_corrupt_clueless_coddled.html )

Progressive Democrats are in a tough spot, because it is increasingly difficult to ignore that the economy is surging under President Trump.  Both business and consumer confidence are above pre-recession levels.  The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index increased in October “to its highest level in almost 17 years” dating back to December 2000.  The latest labor market report was solid with the official unemployment rate at a 17-year low and a broader measure many economists consider the real unemployment rate, known as the U-6 rate, is at a 16-year low.  For the first time in three years, gross domestic product has grown by at least 3% for two consecutive quarters.  The reports from main street are also positive.  Unable to credibly ignore this economic surge, the current tactic for progressive Democrats is to deny its cause.  This “Trump gets no credit” approach says a lot about how poorly progressive Democrats understand what drives economic growth.  It isn’t more government; its less.  In his first nine months, President Trump has taken a machete to the Obama era’s rules and regulations that have been choking American businesses like parasitic vines.  In fact, a recent analysis by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), a libertarian think tank, found that Trump is deregulating the economy at a pace no other president ever has.  According to CEI, Trump’s has reduced the Federal Register’s page count by an impressive 32% compared to President Obama at this time last year.  This put him on course to beat President Reagan’s record of a “one-third reduction in Federal Register pages following Jimmy Carter’s then-record Federal Register.”  That reduction took Reagan years to accomplish, but Trump has been in office nine months.  This should come as no surprise.  Candidate Trump pledged to “cancel every needless job-killing regulation and put a moratorium on new regulations until our economy gets back on its feet.”  Once in office, he immediately ordered government agencies to appoint regulatory “task forces” to identify anti-business regulations that needed to be eliminated.  Ten days into his presidency, Trump fulfilled another campaign promise by signing an executive order requiring that for every new regulation, two be eliminated.  The administration referred to deregulation as removing “that slow cancer that can come from regulatory burdens that we put on our people.”  In a September speech to manufacturers, the president credibly stated, “We have taken unprecedented steps to remove job-killing regulations that sap the energy, creativity and dynamism from our country.”  If you wonder whether this regulatory slashing really mattered, ask someone who owns a business.  Should the Republicans in Congress get a real tax reform bill to the president’s desk, what won’t matter is whether Democrats give them credit for the resulting growth, because the American people will.
