The office of the president of the United States is known for wearing down the mere mortals who hold it, or at the very least, it prematurely ages its occupants.  Often, it humiliates them, forcing them to rehabilitate their reputations later (Jimmy Carter and the late George H.W. Bush), or worst case, it chews them up and spits them out (Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon).  It is a journalistic trope that this is happening to President Trump before our eyes.  The media constantly write stories about how the president is panicked and cornered, barely able to handle his duties, as the walls perpetually “close in.”  But as far as any outside observer can tell, he’s as ebullient and combative as ever, and has never blinked, no matter how intense the pressure of any given controversy.  Far from getting crushed by the weight of the office, Trump doesn’t seem to feel it at all.  Never has any president been as outwardly unfazed by the majesty of the presidency and the White House, or made fewer accommodations to their trappings and norms.  President Trump still acts like he’s Celebrity Trump fighting a vicious flame war with Rosie O’Donnell, except his targets now might be other heads of state, or his own attorney general, or losing members of his own party.  Even after two years, Trump hasn’t lost his capacity to surprise.  In the competition between blurting out whatever happens to be bothering him and paying a little heed to acting presidential, it’s never a contest.  This doesn’t mean that Trump should give up his enormously powerful megaphone on Twitter, or pretend to be something he’s not (even if he could).  He just shouldn’t go out of his way to affirmatively advertise his animosities and half-baked opinions.  If he cares about keeping the presidency, he should care a little more about respecting the dignity of the office.  The great advantage of the presidency is that it is naturally set up to invest people elected to it with a certain grandeur, via the White House, saluting Marines, Air Force One, “Hail to the Chief,” and ceremonial events large and small.  All it requires is showing up and, very often, reading from a script.  If he’s ever brought low, it’s less likely to be from the pressures of his responsibilities than his cussed inability or unwillingness to make a minimal effort to conform to his role.

(“Trump is totally unbowed by the weight of the presidency” by Rich Lowry dated December 17, 2018 published by New York Post at https://nypost.com/2018/12/17/trump-is-totally-unbowed-by-the-weight-of-the-presidency/ )

Every charge Democrats make against Donald Trump comes up empty and as bogus as their climate science.  Mueller’s bogus investigation has taken two years and moved from one false premise to another with all of them being proven false:

·         Trump colluding with Russia to steal the election (false)

·         Trump obstructing justice (false)

·         Trump asking Russia to spy on America (false)

·         Trump being paid off by Russia (false)

·         Trump paying off women with campaign funds (false)

The one take away from all of these accusations by Democrats is that everything with which they try to charge Trump are crimes that they themselves have committed:

·         Hillary rigged the election to crush Bernie.

·         Hillary obstructed the investigation into her illegal email server.

·         Hillary worked with Obama to spy on the Trump campaign.

·         Hillary took hundreds of millions of dollars from Russian and Obama’s Islamist buddies for her campaign.

·         It was Hillary and Obama who misappropriated campaign funds while Trump used his own money for what he wanted which is perfectly legal.

·         Democrats exonerated Obama for $8 million dollars of illegally used campaign funds, paying off his former mentor to keep quiet, and all that happened to him was a campaign fine of a few thousand dollars.

·         During his presidency, Obama gave billions of American taxpayer dollars to the Muslim Brotherhood to re-establish the Caliphate through the Islamic terror State and then gave up a U.S. ambassador to be assassinated before he could blow the whistle on it.

Democrats are the same people who want every person involved in the Trump campaign to be criminalized and make Donald Trump paying off a hooker into a capital crime.  It is the sickness and twisted morality of leftism that where the righteous prosecute criminals, leftists persecute the innocent.  Manafort was convicted of tax evasion from twenty years ago, well beyond the Statute of Limitations that Mueller overrode.  Cohen was convicted of tax evasion and given three years, which will be reduced for his television interviews lying about Trump claiming he asked him to commit crimes.  A judge accepted Cohen’s plea deal on the claim that he helped Trump violate campaign laws and leftists are claiming this is proof of Trump’s guilt without a trial.  If Trump is tried by Democrats, then the 268 Democrats and their RINO buddies who have been using taxpayer funds to pay off their abused women should be thrown under the jail!  Leftist Democrats are making crimes of non-crimes, which is why there is a gap between what is right and wrong vs. what is legal and illegal.  Clinton was impeached for lying under oath to a grand jury, while Trump cannot be charged with a crime for paying off a woman with his own money.  What Democrats are doing is trying to make being a Republican a criminal offense while they import Latino-communists and Islamo-Nazis to join with liberal-fascists in the overthrow of America.  The 42% of people who believe Trump is guilty of Russian collusion are the same fools who believe the Clintons and Obamas are innocent, that all life is going to end because of CO2, and that there are more than two human sexes.  They are the people who championed Bill and Hillary Clinton despite his many rapes and molestations that she made go away by persecuting the women who came forward.  They are the people who elected and support to this day a Moslem socialist who wanted to unmake America and remake it as a socialist dictatorship.  The sins of Trump are peewee league compared to the corruption of Democrats!  Only the self-righteous hypocrites of the left throw stones while living in glass houses.  Americans are sick and tired and disgusted by this globalist persecution, fictions, and coup taking place.  Trump needs to put this entire coup down hard by declassifying all materials related to it along with the phony FISA warrant Obama got to spy on him, prosecute every Democrat from Mueller’s thugs up to and including Obama and Hillary, institute voter ID that disallows illegal aliens, criminals, and idiots from voting, and build the wall!

Like it or not, the freedoms and liberties of average Americans are in great peril.  The sobering reality that all Americans need to grasp is that the establishment elites (aka The Swamp) are about to launch a second strike in their overall plan which is the demise of the legally elected choice of millions of voters that demanded the swamp be drained.  Through the propaganda of the pretend media, the Swamp has controlled the topics, discussions, as well as the optics and thus has convinced many Americans that the country does not require a border, that only a racist would be against an illegal invasion and that President Trump somehow works for the Kremlin and is guilty of Treason.  There has always existed the methodically clandestine confiscation of wealth and freedom from the American worker by the “ruling class.”  There have been several key moments in history where the overreach was so pronounced that it immediately altered the course of the country.  The creation of the Federal Reserve on December 23, 1913, was one such moment.  Another moment is the unfolding response by the elites to the election of Donald J. Trump to the office of the Presidency.  The uncertainty Trump’s election caused had the Swamp react in such an uncharacteristic and uncontrolled manner that it exposed the reality of its existence.  The recent Senate hearings and investigations involving a conspiracy between high ranking members of the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice has unearthed the startling truth that not only did a well established and highly connected deep state exist but that it attempted a soft coup to overthrow a legally elected President.  Although the plan to topple Trump’s Presidency commenced after the 2016 election, the deep state was already mobilized protecting Hillary Clinton’s Presidental run and shielding her from facing prison time for her many crimes.  After Clinton’s defeat, the threat that President Trump, the outsider, represented was that the previously untouchable aristocracy protected by a fraudulent media would not be able to work below the radar and whose members might someday have to face justice.  What happened next is actual treason and the biggest hoax perpetrated in the new century.  The Russian collusion investigation farce against President Trump was a complete fabricated lie courtesy of the Swamp was thrust onto the daily lives of the American people.  It was a direct assault on the office of the Presidency, but it was also an attack against the voting rights of millions of Americans who elected Trump as their President.  The once invisible force behind so many obstacles to freedom has now been unmasked.  Hillary Clinton, James Comey and Andrew McCabe are only a few of the Swamp characters that initiated the coup against The United States Government.  This next phase that will commence shortly after the newly elected Congress convenes on January 3, 2019, will expose additional establishment elites bent on keeping their deceitful and criminal activities secret.  To do that they must impeach President Trump or render ineffective through obstructionist tactics Trump’s agenda which is to put the power where it belongs, back in the hands of the American people and to keep this nation safe by building a border wall.

Careful scrutiny of how the left operates reveals a hierarchy.  There is a small cadre of elite leftist leaders who know the true nature of the evil they perpetrate.  This leadership is utterly self-serving and utterly cynical.  This is where you find the true psychopaths, racial eugenicists, etc.  Examples include Vladimir Lenin, Lavrentiy Beria, Heinrich Himmler, and George Soros.  They have a praetorian guard of similarly elite true believers in the causes trundled out for consumption by the leadership.  These are intelligent, motivated, and charismatic champions of causes like environmentalism, multiculturalism, Malthusianism, etc.  These are the people who cannot psychologically afford to accept that they might be serving an untrue belief system, so they will readily and casually reveal their inconsistencies to others without being able to see them in themselves.  Finally, they also have foot soldiers: These are the ones who march to the tune of whichever drummer promises the brightest utopia for the least amount of personal effort and investment.  It is these who have been cultivated to be emotionally infantile adults incapable of critical thought.  It is these who hold simplistic worldviews and decide with their emotions instead of their intellects.  They tend to believe the caricature of their enemies that has been painted for them by their leadership, but their relative proximity to actual circumstances at ground level causes them to see through the ruse occasionally.  These foot soldiers are perpetually subdivided into smaller and smaller special interest groups.  They aren't especially evil; their chief problem is unquestioning loyalty to the left's leadership.  It is these foot soldiers whom you frequently see acting out: they do this when they didn't get the promised prize at the bottom of their Cracker Jack box.  It isn't just that their social programming deprived them of the capacity for critical thought; they are actively discouraged from thinking for themselves and questioning the narrative.  The foot soldiers can be seen, when certain circumstances are present, as victims of lifelong propagandization by academia, the state, and the DMIC.  The foot soldiers can be reached, one at a time, through gentle effort.  The mid-level leftists are varying degrees of complicit in the evil schemes of the elite.  These are usually intelligent people who have been partially propagandized and partially imbued with a religious faith in the tenets of the left.  They, too, can be reached, but they require a far more clever approach, and with a far lower rate of success.  These mid-level leftists will be psychologically driven to resist your efforts, because, as Mark Twain said, "It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled."

Good news for the incoming House Democrat majority: they have something President Trump really wants to do which is to build a border wall.  Trump is desperate for this money and only congressional Democrats can give it to him.  Without their consent, he can't deliver on one of the key campaign promises he made during the 2016 election.  In classic negotiating strategy, this is called "leverage."  Good negotiators use leverage (something they have, which their adversary wants) to obtain what are called "concessions" (something their adversary has, which they want).  The result is called "compromise."  This is how the civilized world gets things done.  But in a fit of pique, Democrats are throwing away their leverage, insisting that they will never under any circumstances give Trump the wall he so desperately wants, because he wants it and they despise him.  There is a name for this in negotiating strategy as well: it's called "insanity."  Democrats say they are for border security.  They may think that a wall is a costly and inefficient way to secure the border, but there is nothing inherently wrong with a wall. In 2006, 26 Senate Democrats, including Senators Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which required Homeland Security to build two layers of reinforced fencing along 700 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border.  So why not give Trump his wall in exchange for something they want?  They could give Trump the $5 billion he is asking for to begin construction of the wall, in exchange for a path to citizenship for the nearly 2 million "dreamers," illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children through no fault of their own.  Then, when Democrats take the majority next year, they could offer him the remaining $15 billion to $20 billion he needs to finish the wall, in exchange for legal status for the other 11 million people here in the country illegally.  The wall could buy legal status for every illegal immigrant living in the shadows, a longtime Democratic priority.  Trump would likely be willing to cut such a deal.  He is on record repeatedly saying that he wants to find a way for the vast majority of illegal immigrants (aka the "good ones") to get right with the law and secure legal status, so long as we get rid of the rapists, murderers and drug dealers (aka the "bad ones") and secure the border.  If they don't want to use their leverage to solve the illegal immigration problem, then Democrats could use the wall as leverage to win concessions from Trump on something else.  Democrats have an ambitious agenda: from shoring up ObamaCare, lowering the cost of prescription drugs and Medicare-for-all to modifying Trump's tax cuts, increasing the minimum wage, strengthening environmental rules, tackling global climate change and enacting paid family leave.  If Democrats don't use the wall as leverage, they won't get any of this.  In their Oval Office meeting, Schumer told Trump that "elections have consequences," echoing the infamous words spoken by Obama to congressional Republicans in 2009 when they presented him with their ideas for a stimulus package.  Republicans control the executive branch and have an expanded Senate majority.  So if Democrats want to get anything done, they can't ram it through over GOP objections, because Trump has leverage, too, in the form of a pen he can use to sign or veto legislation.  To get anything done, Democrats have to negotiate, and compromise.  The answer for Democrats is simple: Don't refuse the wall; use the wall.

Intersectionality and social justice are a substitute religion, one currently undergoing substantial growth or as he calls it “the Great Awokening.”  For many, especially the young, discovering a new meaning in the midst of the fallen world is thrilling, and social-justice ideology does everything a religion should.  It offers an account of the whole: that human life and society and any kind of truth must be seen entirely as a function of social power structures, where various groups have spent all of human existence oppressing other groups.  A commonality of the zealot past and present: humorlessness.  The young adherents of the Great Awokening exhibit the zeal of the Great Awakening.  Like early modern Christians, they punish heresy by banishing sinners from society or coercing them to public shaming and provide an avenue for redemption in the form of a public confession of sin.  A Christian is born again; an activist gets woke.  There is an overdeveloped muscle in radicalism: the critical reflex.  The term “school of suspicion” describes Marx, Nietzsche, and Freud’s drive to uncover repressed meaning in text and society.  As radicals, we lived in a paradigm of suspicion, one of the malignant ideas that emerge as a result of intellectual in-breeding.  We inherit familial neuroses and see insidious oppression and exploitation in social relationships, stifling our ability to relate to others or ourselves without cynicism.  Activists anxiously pore over interactions, looking for ways in which the mundane conceals domination.  To see every interaction as containing hidden violence is to become a permanent victim, because if all you are is a nail, everything looks like a hammer.  The paradigm of suspicion leaves the radical exhausted and misanthropic, because any action or statement can be shown with sufficient effort to hide privilege, a micro-aggression, or unconscious bias.  The nature of radical communities tends to attract a lot of genuinely compassionate people who feel the injustices of the world deeply and have a sincere interest in making it a better place.  The radical community they join celebrates illegal and often violent behavior.  Intersectionality leads not to a classless society but to the creation of an alternative pecking order, one where the most afflicted are the most revered.  A rejection of social norms combined with a call-out culture based on a pyramid of victimization, can easily be exploited by abusive personalities to dominate and destroy others.

I am optimistic about America's future.  That simple statement typically elicits varying expressions of shock and disbelief.  Despite that, I believe that our nation's best days are still to come.  I am confident that our children and grandchildren will have much better lives than we have enjoyed. They will get to see and do many wondrous things beyond our current ability to imagine.  Most importantly, they will help our nation draw ever closer to becoming a land filled with opportunity, liberty and justice for all.  I'm not oblivious to the problems we face as a nation or the toxic political atmosphere of the early 21st century.  I am probably more pessimistic than most Americans about our broken political system, and believe things will get worse before they get better.  I am able to keep the political problems in perspective.  Over the last decade or two, as my confidence in the political system collapsed, I tried to position myself to see where progress was being made in our nation.  The more I shifted my view away from politics and official Washington, the more my mood improved.  It was a healthy reminder that the country and its government are not the same thing.  Even more important, it quickly became apparent to me that there was lots of progress being made throughout the nation.  The technology industry has improved our lives in so many ways that we can barely remember what life was like before smartphones.  Our economy has had its ups and downs, but it has generated amazing affluence, and we are far better off than we were in the 1970s. Today, our younger generation is providing the dose of idealism we need to keep reaching for our nation's noble founding ideals.  It's all a matter of perspective.  If you are counting on politics to lead America forward, you will be disappointed.  If you turn away from the political battles and look at what's happening in America, there's plenty of reason for optimism, which is why 92% of Americans realize we have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.
